Graduated from NIFT, Kolkata with an award for the Best Design Collection, Smriti won NIRMAN, a prestigious milestone that heralded her as the country’s emerging talent in the sphere of fashion. Under professional guidance of ace designer Shantanu Goenka and Kiran Uttam Ghosh, she further nurtured her passion and now takes the pride of being an empanelled designer with the Development of Handloom and Handicraft Commission for the Government of India.
Her label, ‘Smriti’ is for the self-assured woman, speaking a global language, steeped in femininity with impeccable craftsmanship. Her collection features luxurious silks, airy chanderis and soft cottons in vivid colours. She seeks inspiration from her experiences of travelling and living in remote corners of India.
Showcasing her designs at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Lakme Fashion Week and EPCH in New Delhi, she has also done a show in Malaysia. Her designs have been graced by celebrities like Huma Qureshi,
Smriti Gupta retails internationally as well as stores from all over India like Aura in Nagpur, Panache and Saga in Ahmedabad and Mogra in Mumbai.
