The Kashmiri designer conceptualised his label ‘Sawagger by Saj’ in 2011. He pursued his graduation and post-graduation in Fashion and International Business from the Kingston University. The designer feels passionate for painting, crafts and textiles and loves experimenting with metallic materials and patterns and creatively gets them down in his creations.
His earlier days in the fashion industry include his working with fine luxury brands like Vivienne Westwood, Diesel Black Gold and Martin Maison Margiela. He also got the privilege of being featured in the highly acclaimed fashion magazine, Grazia. Besides, Sajid draws great amount inspiration and the urge of freedom, from the late singer and artist Amy Winehouse and displays the same through his creations.
His label is a complete women wear brand which is a blend of the classy, the exotic and the stylish. In his words, ‘Swagger by Saj’ is his own reflection. Also, he has got the phenomenal experience of showcasing his collections in worldwide platforms. His debut public appearance was marked by the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week Summer Shower 2012. Thereafter, he showcased his exquisite collection at the Jabong stage during the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014.
Presently, he works in Delhi with his designer studio there. He also retails his collections through multi-designer stores in other major cities of the country.
