In accordance to the conventional Zac Posen wardrobe consisting of gowns with large, sweeping bottoms, which make it to the most of the red carpet ensembles, the brand’s resort wear was pretty much as expected.

However, the novelty was the designer’s personal signature trousers being transformed into an enigmatic lady version. The other garments majorly were replete of evening wear gowns with some metallic finishing colours with polished and glossy finishing. The colour palette ranged from bottle green, dark blue, beige and sea green to mild red and leaf-green.

The collection was filled with oomph and elegance, graceful silhouettes and mesmerising designs. Needless to say, Zac never fails to display the epitome of neatness and luxury through his creations and Resort Wear 2015 was no different!

This passionate designer believes in a fashion philosophy that is self-defining and one which evolves with time and emerges with a new look with every consecutive creation. She kick-started her career in 1998 by launching her pret label ‘Nels’ which comprises of formal and informal western wear and ethnic couture wear.

Speaking of her designs, Neelam is very fond of creating stylish cuts and implementing unique colour combinations for her garments. While most of her ideas are based on simplicity and practicality, Neelam gives due importance to the comfort factor for every single creation. A close look at the collection reflects the designer’s proficient belief in simplicity and practicality.

Meanwhile, some of her accomplishments in the fashion world her winning the ‘Best Designer of the Millennium Award’ by ‘Global Fashion’ in New Delhi. Besides, over the years Neelam has come a long way where she has created costumes for a Bollywood film and uniforms for Mercedes Benz, GAIL, American Airlines and hotel groups. Moreover, she has been a part of high-ending platforms like the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and the Lakme Fashion Week. This has helped her receive huge appreciation from the leading fashionistas of the country and enhanced her to increase awareness about her brand in the conventional fashion world.

Designer Jeremy Scott revealed his first Resort Collection for the Italian Luxury fashion house, Moschino. Somewhat reverberating to the designer’s previous creations, the Resort Wear collection was comprised of a couple of garments which were already seen, experienced and enthralled earlier.

However, the collection included dresses inspired by soda cans and Coca-Cola themed designs that were ideal for a casual night out or a fun hang-out with friends. The colour combination was comparatively loud, ranging from hot red and stark black to dark mustard yellow and grey. Besides, the cross-necked bandana influenced dress in hot red, accompanied sexy red clutch and trendy wedges was a complete eye-catcher!

The winner of this year’s BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund is Christopher Shannon getting him a grant of £150,000 grant to provide necessary infrastructure for his business and £50,000 value in kind services, including a bespoke, high level mentoring support programme over a twelve month period.

Christopher Raeburn, E. Tautz, Lou Dalton and Richard Nicoll were shortlisted for the 2014 prize and participated in a mentoring programme where industry experts, including Fund committee members Ben Banks and Jonathan Akeroyd provided guidance on topics including strategic planning, branding, leadership, commercial retail, e-tail and wholesale and digital innovation.

Manish Malhotra will be the Grand Finale designer for Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 to be held from August 20th to 24th at Palladium, Mumbai.

Over the years Manish’s designs have taken Bollywood’s fashion quotient to the highest levels and for upcoming LFW WF 2014, he promises the same joining forces with the Lakmé make-up maestro, Cory Walia.

“This is my fourth finale at LFW and I am as thrilled as I was the first time. I will be showcasing Lakmé Absolute’s bridal trousseau and look forward to re-inventing my style inspired by Lakmé Absolute.” said Manish Malhotra, Grand Finale Designer for LFW WF 2014.

Tarun Tahiliani announced the sixth edition of the annual Tarun Tahiliani Bridal Couture Exposition 2014 in Mumbai from 11th to 12th July.

The collection, aptly named ‘Modern Mughals’, draws inspiration from the splendour of the Mughal Era; impressions from the arts, jewellery, architecture, literature and magnificent processions had powerful embroidery, rich craftsmanship in all its grandeur and sensuality, designed for the time honored wedding ritual. A sensual grace that has its roots in Indian history but resonates with a contemporary lightness that epitomises the designs conceptualised at the studio.
