The final day of the London Collections Men kicked off with designers like E. Tautz, Sibling, Tom Ford, Craig Green, Burberry Prorsum and Xander Zhou among others, showcasing their collections on the runway, thereby giving the platform its justifiable end.
To start with these major highlights of the evening, E. Tautz came up with collection that was a mix and match of both casual, formal and office wears. The designer made excessive use of stripes prints for the loose fitted tee-shirts, trousers and half pants. Keeping the comfort factor intact, the designer created a unique combination of garments which could be the choice of men who believe in experimenting with their daily wardrobe. The designer played pretty safe with the colour contrasts, keeping the conventional ‘men colours’ like navy blue, beige, black and brown among the colour schemes. Moreover, the garments were accessorised by a couple of funky shoes in sporty, playful colours, which enhanced the entire personality of the wearer.
Next up, Paul Smith’s exclusive foot-wear collection typically left the audience with their mouths wide-opened during the entire evening. Using posh, glossy leather as its primary component, the designer came up with an innovative combination of materials to produce never seen before shoes catering to official and casual requirements. Speaking of the collection, one particular pair of shoes which outshone among the entire collection was the rainbow hued, pink, magenta and vibrant blue coloured, laced shoes, which crossed all boundaries of luxury and style. Also, the designer came up with a new dimension of velvet shoes in bright colours which listed among other favourites of the onlookers.
Moving on, Craig Green came up with his conventional utilitarian workwear and uniform influences, displaying a strong visual show on the runway. In three basic colours of black, blue and white, the designer showcased a collection which had a strong focus on fabrics. Individualistically, he made use of cuts, strings and layering as a part of his embellishments. The collection, on the whole, was different, not a common man’s cup of tea!
The much awaited Burberry Prorsum presented a fun-filled collection using the stylish hats as its signature style for every ensemble. On a white runway, the designer played with a wide range of colours including fluorescent green, violet, turquoise, dark olive green bright red and many more. Also showcased were the brand’s handbags, in playful prints and styles. The collection was an all-embracing collection, including everything from formal coats, shirts and suits to the casual jackets and mufflers.
Last but not the least; Xander Zhou showcased a collection playing with form and function using unconventional materials. It comprised of coats paired with loose ganjis, trousers and shorts. Also seen was a glimpse of metallic touch given to the garments, which in a way shone bright among the collection. Furthermore, the artistic belts with huge buckles were the main attraction of the entire look. The colour scheme was blunt using all basic shades of white, crème, black and blue. Somehow, the designer managed to get that gothic presentation that he desired to display with his collection.
The London Collections Men Spring Summer 2015 concluded with designers Baartmans and Siegel, Chester Barrie, Tiger of Sweden, A. Sauvage and Nasir Mazhar drawing down the red carpet along with other fellow designers.
