The multi-faceted, or say the designer with various perspectives driving him to innovate something bizarre and futuristic, Nicola Formichetti, who rose to fame by styling Lady Gaga and holding the creative reins of Thierry Mugler, now launches his own high tech fashion label.

Always inclined toward technology, Nicola aims at taking the fashion into digital age by launching his label, named, ‘Formichetti’ online in 2013 – the label which will follow no schedule of seasonal fashion weeks. The designer is also working on creating clothes that could use solar power to charge the wearer’s phone and new materials that would fit on a person’s body.  

The American celebrity with a legion of talents dons the hat of a fashion designer this time by designing a capsule collection for renowned fashion retailer Macy’s.

The collection titled, ‘Nicole Richie for Impulse’ is part of Macy’s Impulse imprint, which has previously witnessed the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Alberta Ferretti. The collection will feature as much as 30 distinct styles which will hit the Macy’s stores across the world by this September.

The announcement of the dates by Fashion Design Council of India hinted at the latest edition will see an increased participation by designers and buyers and the venue will once again boast of exquisite lounges, restaurants and welcoming café counters for the guests pouring in from across the world.
