Because You're worth itL’Oréal Paris Women Awards 2012, commemorated the most outstanding Indian women achievers this year. In the first year of the awards, L’Oréal Paris honoured 19 extraordinary Indian women and exceptional man, the finest talents in their areas of expertise, from art, music, education, business, social activism, cinema amongst others.

The L’Oréal Paris ‘Because You’re Worth It’ award was presented by L’Oréal Paris brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to the winners. Making her first official appearance post motherhood, Aishwarya had a surprise up her sleeve when she gave away a special award to the woman most worth it to her – her mother Mrs. Vrinda Rai.“I would like to thank L’Oréal Paris for giving me such a great platform to show my appreciation to the woman who’s most worth it to me, the nucleus of my life, my mother,” she said.

The star-studded ceremony saw winners including Sona Mahapatra (Music and Performing Arts), Poorna Jagannathan (Breakthrough Performance), Kahini ArteMerchan Art), Dipika Pallikal (Sports), Dr Firuza Parikh (Science and Innovation), Ekta Kapoor (Business and Entrepreneurship), Kalpana Swaminath(Literary Contribution), Neelam Chhiber (Social Impact), Alka Shesha(Education) ,Mansi Poddar/Kanika Parab (Online Influencer), Kangna Ranaut(Style) among others.  
 
Fashion met glamour when Priya Sachdev hosted a private dinner, in honour of the iconic designer Diane Von Furstenberg at a high end restaurant in Mumbai. KITSCH the exclusive partners of DVF in India invited their top clients to enjoy the evening with their favourite designer Diane Von Furstenberg. 

The exclusive soiree was an intimate get-together where the guests from the fashion and glamour industry like Kangana Ranaut, Preity Zinta,Suzanne Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Avantika Mallik, Chitrangada Singh, Queenie Singh, Sophie Chaudhary, Shobha De, Chetan Bhagat, Aki Narula and others mingled with Diane Von Furstenberg over cocktails and dinner. The free flowing conversations at the restaurant were paved by Luxury, Fashion and Wrap Dresses along with an ongoing flow of couture, cocktails and conversations.The elegant soiree had Warhol’s of Diane Von Furstenberg that gave the guests the opportunity to pose against the artistic decor.

Nautica, which is about more than just apparel brand for men, recently opened two exclusive stores, in Bangalore and Pune, taking the total number of exclusive stores to 13 in the country.

The Bangalore store is the second one in the Garden City and is spread across 1,003 sq ft while the Pune store is the first one in the city and boasts of a space of 1,380 sq ft.

The Waverider concept forms the central point for all the stores’ décor across the country. Inspired by Nautors Swan Yacht, which combines outstanding sailing performance with world-class comfort, water is the protagonist in Nautica’s narrative. Design elements, in the form of materials, shapes and technology are used to bridge the brand’s heritage and history of life on water. A palette of crisp white, contrasted against rich navy walls creates the setting for this iconic brand.

Kiran Uttam Ghosh SS 12It’s not just the façade but the inner beauty of a woman which designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh strikes on through her latest Spring Summer 2012 collection.

The collection titled, ‘Chiconomics’ delicately counterbalances edgy silhouettes with signature layering and an unmistakable flirtatious playfulness with effortless simplicity. From asymmetric hem shirt dresses to wrap dresses, this ready-to-wear line of flowing chiffons, georgettes, jersey and heat pressed pleats is travel friendly being lightweight and easy to pack and launder.

The line layered with soft knits witness simple silhouettes and asymmetric hemlines meeting with signature layering and very little embroidery. From tangerine, bright canary yellow, orange and other citrus hues to pure ivory, fresh coral, watermelon, mint and chartreuse, the latest collection by designer is all characterized by an interesting juxtaposition of colours.

FedoraMi x Ani LeeThe Italian luxury label FedoraMi making classic and chic handbags, of late, collaborated with fashion designer Ani Lee to bring the limited edition range created by reviving classic silhouettes to the fore.

The collection of handbags, including Isi with the sheen of silver embodies classic shapes known to the FedoraMi while bringing in the luxurious and beautiful vintage textiles of Ani Lee. Seemingly, the perfect combination of design and technology, it aims at creating modern classics for the contemporary women.

Drawing from the brand aesthetic, the space has been treated with surprising details that make it minimalistic, giving it a sense of space, chic, with its tone and elements, and classic, with its clean lines and elegant appeal. 

Themed around a neo-classical library, it has been given a very unique contemporary twist. Old yellowing books, stacked in floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in super high-gloss, an entire wall treated with Andrew Martin wallpaper from London to look like an erratically scribbled black-board and a jet-black upright piano bought off an antique dealer, to give it that extra pizzaz.

It is then modernized by features like the 20ft hand-made white high-gloss centre table, the Ghost Kartell chairs from Hong Kong and the bespoke glass front façade with its matt black double-doors. To make the experience of shopping at AM:PM one of leisure and luxury, fresh cups of coffee in its various forms and flavors is available at the press of a button from the in-house coffee machine, specially flown in from Germany.
