It’s the simplicity and femininity of James Ferreira’s designs, not to mention his immaculate drapes which make him stand as one coveted name of Indian fashion. Be it Mumbai or Delhi, the venerable doyen of fashion brings a layer of grit at the glitzy fashion weeks.

After having showcased in the capital a fortnight back, James is making a return to the Mumbai fashion scene after a gap of five years. The master draper and cutter will present a show at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 on March 2, 2012, the very first day of the five-day Mumbai based fashion week.

James Returns to Mumbai

James will be seen taking center stage with his style that encompasses the neoclassic, fresh and contemporary; with flowing garments that evolve from a weave, to a drape, to a cut; the end result being a timeless silhouette from one single piece of cloth.

His collection titled, ‘Save the Air’ is dedicated to Mumbai, the city he loves, the city where he has been living for over three decades. It’s his strong conviction about the environment, the quality of air in Mumbai which he wants to bring awareness about though his latest collection to be displayed.
