Las Vegas Tradeshow F/W 2012When the hits and misses from various fashion weeks around the world are making the rounds on internet, tradeshows hold court with their strikingly innovative designs and a brigade of new talents holding hands with established high-end brands and premium street labels.

Amongst many such shows, the most design-forward to grab our eyeballs were Capsule and Project tradeshows held in Las Vegas recently. Tagged as top Las Vegas apparel and accessories tradeshows, the business-to-business shows delivered the perfect dose of progressive styles while reflecting today’s mash up culture with Fall/Winter 2012 collections on display.

A new fashion exhibition, the two-day Capsule Las Vegas brought the world’s most directional independent designers, super premium street wear and lifestyle brands together under one roof. From kids range to laundries, to women and men briefs, it came out as a hotbed for new launches. The denim remained the shining star of the show with labels like Skargorn by Rikke Kroff launching its neo-vintage re-worked denims with Scandinavian edge.

The Old World of BandanasA symbol of workers or rebels of 60s or cowboys bandana is definitely a fashion accessory to be kept close to your heart, and specifically if it’s vintage, not to mention the substance it renders when knotted on head.

Though many fashion labels in their latest collections played with bandana in various prints and detailing but what caught our attention is vintage bandanas making a comeback loaded with their old world charm and nostalgia. Whether be it the handkerchief sized or a bigger version of it, those muted earthy shades from the bygone age featuring art nouveau prints or brimming with Americana have an undying distinct appeal.

The Old World of Bandanas

Amongst many such old world collectibles, the vintage elephant and rat bandannas reviving pre-world-war times have their significance in many cultures and turn out to be a preferred choice of vintage collectors. Specifically, the elephant ones with its motif going from trunk down to trunk up over the years make it highly collectible. Furthermore, the vintage ones are defined by various prints, polka dots, sun bleached hues, national flags and patriotic figures.

Even these pieces hold their appeal in the glitter of the contemporary fashion. With the likes of Louis Vuitton, Prada and Kenzo showcasing vintage inspired bandanas on runway fashioned in the form of scarves, neck ties and cravats with prints from the past can be instrumental in turning mundane into chic. So be it the decades-old bandanas with modern twist or the original ones with mix and match of separates, the old world of bandanas resonate well with the laid back Spring Summer 2012.
