Cartier Polo ChallengeWith the finishing of the 7th Cartier International Dubai Polo Challenge 2012, the Cartier team proudly acclaims them the winner beating the Desert Palm by 10-9. This is for the first time Cartier’s have dazzled their own gala with such accolades. Four teams presented their skills during the polo match.

HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum along with Charlotte Casiraghi a guest, Bernard Fornas, Chief Executive of Cartier and Louis Ferla, Managing Director of Cartier Dubai handed over the winning trophies to the players with great pleasure. Adriano Agosti from the Cartier’s stepped forward to receive the trophy. While his team-mate, Mohammed Bin Drai, was addressed as the Most Valuable Player. One of the most awaited cinematic extravaganzas of the year, and undoubtedly the most glamorous and dignified one is Oscars where the onscreen fantasies seem a grazing reality. The 84th Academy Awards took place in its full glory at Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles lately.

The stars came in droves, where men were in their black tuxedos and women in elaborate designer gowns, walking the red carpet, holding hands, kissing and posing for shutterbugs. On stage was Billy Crystal throwing his famous jocular volleys, and interesting film montages taking all and sundry by awe. But it was Angelina Jolie’s thigh show, her subsequent mockery and Jennifer Lopez’s dress slip which stole the awards night away.

Meanwhile, the silence of French movie, ‘The Artist’ screamed loud enough and it ended up bagging the coveted statuettes for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director, where the latter two were Jean Dujardin and Michel Hazanivicius, respectively. On the other hand, Meryl Streep held her third Oscars for Best Actress this time for her portrayal of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Iron Lady’.

Well, few those who attended the award ceremony, apart from the ones mentioned above were George Clooney, Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt, Woody Allen, Gwyneth Paltrow, Octavia Spencer and Sacha Baron amongst others.

Ferragamo Shoe for SonamThe style sense – a product of quite a few million dollars of designer wear launching some tantamount wows now or then has made very own diva Sonam Kapoor open her wings and fly away from her father’s perch to the colorful skies of International fashion scene.

Be it her loud girly giggles, or sporadic raspy statements, Sonam knows how to keep it going on, apart from her immaculate styling put together by outfits ranging from a sari by Masaba to a dress by Dolce & Gabbana giving enough fodder to fashion tabloids, and sleepless nights to young girls.

Now, riding high on the back of her much loved and talked about fashion sense, she has had graced the front rows of the iconic International labels like Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Burberry Prorsum and D&G, that too in last two months. And latest in the series of her fashion kudos is the honor by Ferragamo as a part of their Shoe for Star project.
