The Graduation fashion show featured collections from students who majored in the areas of Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Menswear Design, Technical Design, Textile Design and Jewelry/Metal Arts. Select M.F.A. and B.F.A. graduating students presented their work to industry professionals and recruiters at the President’s Reception and Portfolio Review held before the fashion show.

The show featured collaborative collections beginning with the SHOP657 Collection which is a private label collaborative collection between Fashion Design, Textile Design, Jewelry & Metal Arts, and Fashion Merchandising students. SHOP657 is the School of Fashion’s retail store that features student, alumni, andfaculty product. The store is located at 657 Sutter Street, near Union Square, in San Francisco.

In addition to the SHOP657 Collaborative Collection, other collaborations include:

• A Fashion Design and Knitwear Design collaboration
• Three Fashion and Textile Design collaborations – two of which are Menswear Collections
• Two Fashion Design and Jewelry & Metal Arts collaborations
• Two collections with beading by students who studied Tambour Beading

sonamL’Oréal Paris ambassadors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor Blake Lively and Araya Hargate brought Cannes to a standstill as they descended on the red carpet in their breathtaking designer creations.

The latest being Sonam Kapoor who has never gone wrong with her sartorial choices. Her first appearance was in an edgy Anamika Khanna dress while she quickly changed to stunning Rimzim Dadu futuristic sari for press interactions.

Finally at the Cannes red carpet she wore a custom Ralph & Russo saree inspired gown, Chopard jewellery and Ferragamo shoes. The beautiful white gown was paired with flushed pink lips, dewy make-up and her hair styled in soft loose waves that cascaded over her shoulder.

Previous days red carpet appearances had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan dazzled everyone with her second stint in a sweeping beige Elie Saab gown with delicate overlay embroidery in pink flowers. Aishwarya was a vision in her flawless make-up which comprised of beautifully lined eyes and a deep red pout.

Blake Lively left the on-lookers breathless in a figure-hugging sequined blue Atelier Versace silk gown. Sporting a thigh-high slit and a flowing train, the sensational actress exuded glamour and glow. Going subtle with her make-up, Blake opted for nude glossy lips and hair tied in a sleek pony-tail.

Araya Hargate made yet another dramatic statement in a Zuhair Murad Spring 2016 couture pink and mint floral jacquard gown with a square open-back, a layered cape waist train and a back split. To compliment her look, she went with a slick side-parted bun and a smokey eye.

Meanwhile, L’Oréal Paris ambassadors Thylane Blondeau, Li Yuchun, Ola Al Fares and Jing Boran also made their presence felt with their fashion forward style on Day 4 of Cannes Film Festival.

Lately there was an exhibit of 10 of the most memorable and viral hashtags through art at Caelum Gallery NYC. Artistes were invited from various disciplines to create a piece around single hashtag to be displayed in an integrated gallery experience.

430In the midst of the Spring heat, Jean-Claude Biguine launched ‘Pearls of Tahiti’, their new and uber cool S/S ’16 Collection of hairstyles and trends for women at a special showcase at Palladium , Mumbai.

Models dressed in flowing gowns and dresses showcased a spectrum of gold hues such as ‘Cold Gold’, ‘Blond Crémeux’, ‘Light Pink Gold’ and colour contouring, the collection is given depth with the use of wavy hair, tousled pixie bobs, and boyish cuts with some serious texture.

The new looks fashion show which was conceptualised by Carole Robequin, choreographed and directed by Lubna Adams had Eijaz Khan, Nauheed Cyrusi, Deepti Gujral, Ira Dubey, Tejaswini Kolhpaure, Zeba Kohli, Shamita Singha, Ujwalla Raut, Manasi Parekh, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Aasif Azeem , Nethra Raghuraman Natasha Chib, Parveen Dusamj, Swapnil Shinde , Ameet Gaur, Pooja Dadlani and Archana Kochar over hors d’oeuvres and Fratelli Wines.

Michael Kors opened its largest flagship store in a landmark building on renowned Regent Street, the store combines the best of two worlds: an elegant, historic façade with a sophisticated, modern interior that showcases the brand’s signature glamorous aesthetic.

Set on three floors, the Regent Street flagship will carry every category of Michael Kors products with distinctive design elements throughout the 16,275-square- foot store highlight and separate keyareas of the store, lending each a distinctive character.

The new store interiors features dark Macassar wood floors and tables, shelves of brushed stainless steel, Venetian wallpaper and Calacutta marble fixtures. A pale, weathered limestone“runway” leads from the entrance through the entire store. The palette of soft browns and grays,mixed with warm woods, textural finishes and luxe materials, reflects the label’s refined take on glamour while providing a modern and inviting ambience in which customers can browse, shop and enjoy the brand’s exceptional personal styling and service.

“London is one of the world’s great fashion cities and an endless source of inspiration for me personally,” says Michael Kors. “I’m thrilled to be opening a beautiful new flagship on Regent Street that represents everything we do and offers our customers the full world of Michael Kors.”

The annual fashion showcase of B.D Somani Institute of Art and Fashion Technology, “Silhouettes 2016 – Internationally Desi” had students celebrating the cultural heritage of the quintessential Indian-ness with a global twist. The event revisited the enriching art & handicraft treasures across our nation with designer Archana Kochhar as guest of honor.

Education New Zealand (ENZ) and Fashion Design Council of India hosted the ‘Runway to New Zealand’, culminated a month-long journey with Yoshino Maruyama from Massey University and Megha Sharma from Pearl Academy; the second pair – Claire Nicholson from AUT University and Aishwarya Jain fromPearl Academy, won a two-week internship at the participating New Zealand fashion school.

The showcase saw an amalgamation of creative impetus and ingenuity and independent thinking,it encouraged team work as participants from New Zealand and India came together to curate ensembles. The ‘Think New’ collection by 12 students from New Zealand (Massey University and AUT University) and Indian institutions (National Institute of Fashion Technology and the Pearl Academy) using indigenous sustainable fabrics to craft new-age garments based on the theme ‘’Future World Connection”.

The competition was judged by an esteemed jury which included prominent names from the style galaxy: Amit Aggarwal, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal and Varun Bahl.
Other designers also seen at the event included Reynu Taandon, Rahul Mishra, Hemant Lalwani, Gaurav Jai Gupta and many more.

c 2As is one provocative shot showing the underwear of 22-year-old Danish actress Klara Kristin with a caption that reads, “I pulse in #mycalvins.”while Kendall Jenner posed sensually with a grapefruit which is presumed as a metaphor for a vagina.
