KFC Hong Kong has recently introduced new way of eating their fried chicken, an edible nail polish, finger Lickin’ Good.

kfc 2

The Finger Lickin’ Good nail polish range comes in two signature KFC flavours — Original Recipe, a light taupe with brown sparkles, and Hot & Spicy, a fire engine red with deep maroon sparkles. It’s designed to keep customers suckin’ and lickin’ long after their meal is over.

“To use, consumers’ simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick — again and again and again,” the polish flavours are infused with “natural ingredients” the restaurant uses in its chicken recipes.

Whether in steel or bicolor rose-gold plated, the Delight Automatic with its noble exterior will attract those who appreciate the most sophisticated design. The collection has definitely seduced our international charity ambassador Gwyneth Paltrow. We let you discover her thoughts in an exclusive interview.

Frederique Constant’s motto is « Live your passion ». Do you adopt this slogan also in your life? Or what is yours?

Gwyneth Paltrow: I am an absolute believer in living one passion. I feel incredibly fortunate that my work has always stemmed out of passion and continues to do so.
Describe your first watch, who bought it, where you wore it and any memories you have it?

Gwyneth Paltrow: My first watch was a swatch watch. It was the 80’s and they were a massive trend. I was given a blue swatch by my parents for Christmas in 1984 and I was so thrilled! I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever owned.

How does „time” affect your life? For what activity can you always spare 10 minutes and for what activity do you never seem to have the time?

Gwyneth Paltrow: Like almost everyone I know in the world today, there never seems to be enough time to achieve all that we are meant to achieve on any given day. Time with my children provides the very best ROI for everyone involved, so I make sure to keep the same routine every week day so I never miss my time with them. I never seem to have a spare 10 minutes these days, but I meditate when I can.

600

Your involvement with Frederique Constant is driven by your passion for charity what is your first memory of being involved with a charity and did it set the tone for your adult life?

Gwyneth Paltrow: I grew up very involved in my community efforts to feed people with very little resources. I both prepared and served food both in California and NYC in soup kitchens. My mother always instilled in me a sense of responsibility to the society at large, and having the experience of working closely with populations who were struggling definitely engaged my empathy, my anger at the systemic problems, and my passion to be involved.

What causes are you most passionate about? Do you feel that there are any that are often overlooked and in greater need of public attention?

Gwyneth Paltrow: I can become very passionate about every single cause on the planet, GMO labeling, clean water, Global warming, starvation; I could go on and on. I feel that education is power and that so many of our issues will be addressed if we have an education system in place that bolsters critical thought and passion in our next generations.

One of the best things about a fine timepiece is that it lasts in value – not onlyMonetarily but also in sentimentality as an heirloom that is passed down through generations. What heirlooms were passed down to you, and what do you hope to pass down to your kids?

Gwyneth Paltrow: My father’s wedding ring is my most precious heirloom. I will never take it off.

500 1

You are a globally recognized lifestyle expert. How do fine timepieces, likethose crafted by Frederique Constant, fit as a quintessential lifestyle must-have?

(Handcrafted in Switzerland, privately owed family company, charitable initiatives, lasting classic beauty in the design, etc..)

Gwyneth Paltrow: The reason I was so drawn to work with Frederique Constant not only because they are a family owned company, making beautiful and reliable watches at a surprising price points, but that there is a deep sense of giving back.

What aspect of the watch world do you find most interesting and what are you most looking forward in terms of your work with Frederique Constant?

Gwyneth Paltrow: I am hoping I will be able to go to Geneva to have a look inside the Frederique Constant watch factory! I have always wanted to see a watch maker at work.

430Calvin Klein Collection wardrobe for Lupita Nyong’o, Emma Watson, Margot Robbie was all about sustainability. Other stars who wore the brand at the red carpet included Michael B. Jordan, Common, Amandla Stenberg, Nate Parker, Jonathan Groff, Diplo, Odell Beckham Jr., Adwoa Aboah, Luka Sabbat and Vogue’s Camilla Nickerson for their appearances at the 2016 Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

With the event’s theme as “Fashion in an Age of Technology,” and Watson rocked the red carpet with her stunning gown created using sustainable products. The gown combined “creativity, technology, and fashion” to send a bold message about curbing waste, she wrote on facebook. According to Watson, the fabrics of the dress were woven from recycled plastic bottles — “one of the biggest pollutants on the planet,” she noted. The cotton used in the design was organic — not the conventional kind that uses chemicals to grow and thus damages the earth and puts workers’ health at stake. Even the zippers were crafted from recycled materials.

Along Watson and Lupita Nyong’o, Margot Robbie joined the duo in celebrating Eco-Age’s #GreenCarpetChallenge.

Chanel brought glamour back to Cuba with its resort runway show at the Paseo Del Prado Street in Havana, Cuba.

400Chanel becomes the first major fashion house to hold a runway show featuring glittering gowns, tulle cocktail dresses and models in Panama hats smoking cigars. Inspired by the Art Deco elegance of pre-revolutionary Cuba and its cultural richness, as the setting sun haloed the watchful lions with gold; the show started with an opening passage affirming one of the major cruise silhouettes: masculine-feminine, terribly chic with a dash of scoundrel. A long masculine jacket over wide trousers with turn-ups, flat two-tone shoes, shirt belted with fabric, Panama hat by Maison Michel raffishly tilted over Stella Tennant’s haughty gaze. In this spirit of bold modernity, of boyish femininity, the “debutant dress” according to Karl Lagerfeld is jubilant: a tiered flounced petticoat in a leaf motif embroidered organza, contrasting with a mess jacket worn over a white shirt with tie.

300 2

The underlying theme of the collection is a virtuoso interpretation of the guayabera, the traditional Cuban shirt with pockets, shoulder tabs and flat pleats. Karl Lagerfeld mischievously nicknames it the “Cuban tux”.

mFor day, as a diaphanous blouse, it accompanies a pair of rolled-up chino trousers; for night, the guayabera reveals its potential for sensuality, as a black transparent organza blouse worn with a very tightly belted “sfumato” black and almond green flared skirt. A perfectly pacific military parade, with adorable shorts and jacket suits in denim and khaki tweed, a parka in fringed tweed or this short-sleeve shirt with fantasy decorations embroidered by Lesage and Montex.

chneWith the same youthful energy, the same audacity, a little pair of cycling shorts delicately rhinestoned and embroidered with camellias in “Chinese shadows” are animated by a top scintillating with multi-coloured palm trees.

chThe palette is inspired by the vibrant baroque facades of the old town: yellow, pink, orange, turquoise, bright green burst and sparkle over the marvellous sequined and embroidered short little dresses, the chasuble-dresses in coral orange embroidered tweed. The same chromatic affirmation goes for the strapless dresses in sequins, with puffed sleeves, with fringes and feathers. The tobacco and Havana tones are reminiscent of the Cuban Picasso, Wifredo Lam. The blacks and the whites are shadowy, cloudy, smoky.

300 5

And always finished with a Panama hat, apart from the occasional sequinned black beret irreverently evoking “Commander” Che Guevara!
In tune with this wildly spiritual collection, woven flip-flops, caged sandals worn over cheeky ankle socks, crocheted backpacks, soft bundle bags with multi-coloured local snail patterns, and of course the “cigar box” reticule, a nod to the Cocohiba…
