As the year draws to close we see some remarkable campaigns from the creative minds of the fashion industry. A fashion year is always an eventful as designers push the boundaries with their designs, controversial spokes models appearing in campaigns, or thought-provoking images, here are some of fashion’s most memorable campaigns from 2014.
Bottega Veneta Campaign by David Sims
Bottega Veneta’s The Art of Collaboration highlight the talent of various contemporary photographers which are worth mentioning, includes Pieter Hugo, Annie Leibovitz, Nan Goldin, Collier Schorr, and Peter Lindbergh. While brands F/W 2014-2015 campaign featured British photographer, David Sims, who shot Edie Campbell in a stark, minimalist image.
Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne for Chanel
Karl Lagerfeld directed a short fashion film for this year’s Chanel Métiers d’Art , featuring two of the most stylish celebrities of 2014- music producer Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne. Williams and Delevingne starred as portraits re- enacts Gabrielle Chanel’s Life.
Madonna’s Campaign for Versace
Versace teamed up with Madonna once again for their Spring/Summer 2015 campaign. This campaign marked the fourth collaboration between the Italian brand and the pop icon. The black and white images were shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
Julia Roberts for Givenchy
The return of 90’s icons continued when Givenchy named Julia Roberts as the face of their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. The French fashion house presented the 47 year-old Hollywood icon in a cool tuxedo look with minimal makeup.
Alexander Wang’s Denim X Campaign
Alexander Wang made fashion headlines when he featured one of the year’s favorite models, Anna Ewers, in a risqué advertorial shot by Steven Klein. The controversial campaign for his line, Denim X, showed Ewers almost entirely nude with only a pair of jeans around her ankles.
