At Madrid Fashion Week:

With over 20 years of professional experience as a designer of handbags and accessories, Eric Gallais has signed partnerships with companies and artists like Yves Saint Laurent, Loewe, Hedi Slimane or Tom Ford. This season, his name is attached to Moisés Nieto, both supporters of Made in Spain, the craftsmanship and perfection in execution of Natural fabrics with weight, Wool blend and Tweed Lurex, Mikado, triple acetate and cotton are lightened with silk, chiffon or lace.

Silhouettes are refined almost masculine lines but with a great feminine load with relaxed almost oversize shoulder, where the shape is simply insinuated. Skirts and dresses above the knee that counterbalance the demure necklines have subtle openings, high very high necks and accentuated hips.

With the absence of color, monochromatic palette ranges from charcoal black, pure white, snow gray and white orchid breaking the canvas with a linear print. Vertical freehand made stripes and a tartan mix textures, patterns and fabrics was a visual work.

At Madrid Fashion Week:

In Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s designs there is a constant that is always kept intact. For this season A-W 2014-15, prints are the inspiring force as she has recovered classic prints from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s and developed new ones for the winter of 2014. Dots, stripes, hearts, flowers, stars, bows, logos, rainbows, clouds and tangled outlines of all sizes flooded the runway.

The palette is enormous, from primary colors to the secondary and tertiary ones. They all mix amongst themselves, creating a feeling of baroque minimalism, mixing this wide range of color with graphic elements which include knitted wool, plush, neoprene, satin, poplin, waterproofs, crepe and even sequins.

Silhouettes are in the form of tightly fitted leggings contrast with big oversized coats. Straight lines on big curves and circles, evasés and layers play with articles of all possible sizes and lengths, transforming dressing up into a true game.

A multi-talented entrepreneur and designer, Harshita is an all-rounder who believes in the revival of the handloom tradition of woven art. Having completed her graduation from Goldsmith University of London in Media Communications and film, she recently opened her own concept-designer store in Pune titled ‘Mariah’.

Her label, ‘Harshita Chatterjee Deshpande’ comprises of collections from classical Indian weavers exclusively designed for contemporary Indian women. She participated in the Lakme Fashion Week winter/Festive 2013 and had bollywood actresses like Sonali Bendre and Isha Koppikar walking the runway for her. The collection ‘Ragas of the Charioteer’ was based on the concept of reviving the ‘Paithani’.

The vibrant Bengali beauty also loves travelling across India, employs her experiences by taking them as an inspiration, and searches for old traditional weavers and textile craftsmen. In her past years, she has worked as a TV journalist in Mumbai and was also engaged in film direction and script writing.

Previously, she organised a three-day performing art festival called ‘Gulaal’ through her organization, ‘Indian Rhythm and Art Association’. Harshita now plans to set up a theatre and art centre in Pune.
