UK-based accessory designer Mawi will showcase at Lakme Fashion Week SR14, after 12 years of establishing the infamous MAWI brand in London. Ready to return to her Indian roots she will debut with her latest collection called ‘Indian Odyssey’ at the upcoming Fashion Week.

The avant-garde fashion accessories designer will collaborate with one of India’s most celebrated fashion designers, Gaurav Gupta to present thirty looks of bejeweled decadence chronicling a retrospective journey through landmark MAWI pieces.

Brands’ Women’s Creative Director, Francisco Costa, presented his Fall 2014 Calvin Klein Collection on the runway at Spring Studios in Tribeca last week.

Mr. Costa presented his latest collection to an audience that included special guests, Lupita Nyong’o and Naomi Watts – both of whom were wardrobed in Calvin Klein Collection looks.

“The basis of my fall collection surrounded knitwear, which translated into a warm, textural coziness,” said Mr. Costa. “It had an overall sense of ease, but with an urban element woven throughout.”

There were several exclusive models seen on the runway show, including Alyssa, who opened the show, Sabine, Ine, Janica, Melaine, Iana and Vanessa, who is currently featured in the brand’s Spring 2014 global advertising campaign.

With the onset of summer season heading towards the fashion industry, Aparna Badlani and Azmina Rahimtoola owned Atosa saw the launch of the latest collection and accessories by the nation’s most elite and creative designers, Nishka Lulla, Vaishali S, Raj Shroff and Zarrin. The hub of luxury, styling and elegance, incorporated its latest collection on the 13th of Feb.

Speaking of the designers’ curation, Nishka’s pieces of creativity focused on comfort and delicacy. Her collection conveyed the ‘beauty is simplicity’ message, where the dresses, high waste skirts etc. were all created to cater to one’s daily needs and convenience.

Whereas, Raj Shroff’s collection ‘Ravage’, could be best defined with the adjectives ‘class and comfort.’ The innovative silhouettes and dresses were created in a fashion that could be worn for multiple occasions. In contrast to this was designer Vaishali S’ collection, which uniquely fabricated the deep and dark colours. Furthermore, they were a bunch of hand-woven and hand-spun Kesapaat of Assam, thereby making it extremely user friendly during the summers.

The grace and the bling of the entire evening lied in Zarrin’s pieces of ethnic and vivacious jewellery. From long neckpieces in gold, to the traditional formal jewellery, from fashionable neon coloured necklaces to the one for all neck pieces, Zarrin created wonders in terms of accessorizing.
