After hitting bull
The man who sold the world, David Bowie might have crooned about the hollowness of fame but ironically, he gets a bigger pie of it, as Victoria & Albert Museum immortalizes the rock & roll genius.
The museum, situated in London has been given the access to the David Bowie Archive to curate the first International retrospective of the career of the English rock star. The exhibition titled, “David Bowie is”, scheduled from March 23 to July 28, 2013, will explore his broad range of collaborations with artists and designers in the fields of fashion, sound, graphics, theatre, art and film.
The exhibition will feature more than 300 objects from the archive of Bowie like handwritten lyrics, original costumes, fashion, photography, film, music videos, set designs, his own instruments and album artwork.
On display will be his Ziggy Stardust bodysuits designed by Freddie Burretti, photography by Brian Duffy, album sleeve artwork by Guy Peellaert and Edward Bell, visual excerpts from films and live performances including The Man Who Fell to Earth, music videos such as Boys Keep Swinging and set designs created for the Diamond Dogs tour amongst other souvenirs from his extraordinary career..
The tenth anniversary of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant comes with the launch of The Big Chair Project – an exciting collaboration with some of the top names in fashion, art and design.

The artists like Paul Smith, Tracey Emin, Christopher Bailey, Cath Kidston and Sarah Burton are working to create unique designs that will be auctioned to raise money for Jamie Oliver’s Charity, Better Food Foundation.
Commenting on his chair designer Paul Smith said, “I’ve been a bit naughty, because on the front side of the chair it is full of cakes and all those delicious things that are bad for you, then on the back of the chair it’s full of healthy stuff – lots of fruit, vegetables and lettuce – it’s both sides of the coin really, the bad side and the good side. It’s not really the chair – it’s not really the fact, its Paul Smith.”
Even Jamie Oliver himself is also customizing a classic Egg chair and footstool besides an ANT chair he will design in collaboration with photographer David Loftus.
Amongst 20 of these chairs six will be available to win as part of lottery by simply buying a ticket at the www.thebigchairproject.org. The remaining will be auctioned online which will close in October, after a mix of online and live bidding.
