Always prepared to bring British fashion to the fore, British Fashion Council has done it again by collaborating with nine fashion designers and artists to create one-of-its-kind pieces of art to be displayed at London Festival 2012.
The launch of Britain Creates 2012: Fashion + Art Collusion, running from June 21 to September 9, 2012, will see the fashion designers like Paul Smith, Giles Deacon, Hussein Chalayan, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Stephen Jones and Jonathan Saunders joining hands with different artists to create nine exquisite works of art.
Amongst all pieces created, something wearable is only created by Designer Giles Deacon in collaboration with conceptual artist Jeremy Dellar. The duo has created a full body running suit with flowing train and a headdress of leaves and feathers. On the other hand, fashion veteran Paul Smith in association with Charming Baker has created an aluminum sculpture, entitled, Triumph in the face of absurdity 2012’ – a life-sized cycle being balanced by a tiny mouse.
