Revival of SchiaparelliWell, one of the freewheeling non-conforming true rebels of the flapper era, Elsa Schiaparelli is back on the block. After her Met fame, the designer who had shut down her label after World War II is seeing the light of day.

The label Schiaparelli which is now owned by Diego Della Valle of Tod’s is being revived. The iconic label with an assortment of chic suits and accessories will come in force soon as a couture label with perfumes, jewellery and exquisite pieces on offer, taking forward the legacy of the designer.

And if rumors are to be believed, John Galliano is in the run to hold the reins of the brand as its Creative Director, giving way to this plausible affair where the design philosophy of a femme fatale of the gone-by era will be reinterpreted by a bête noire of today.

Revival of Schiaparelli

One of the most intriguing showcasing to mesmerize the superheroes-obsessed generation of today lately surfaced at the ramp of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2012.

The collaboration between label ‘Romance Was Born’ and Marvel comics had interesting couture designs on display featuring superheroes and their paraphernalia. The SS 2013 collection by Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett of ‘Romance Was Born’ delves the archive of the world of Marvel with impressive iconography.

The graphic prints on well-tailored dresses with structured shoulders and high hemlines had everyone right from Superman to Avenger exhibiting their exploits. The psychedelic prints, sequined fabrics and beaded patchwork rendered fantastical feel to the collection.
