London, UK, November 2018 – The next generation Range Rover Evoque was unveiled with an impressive display of capability in London’s creative hub, as British stars came together for the launch, with Bodyguard star Richard Madden joining a host of famous faces on the red carpet, including Taron Egerton, Millie Mackintosh, Hugo Taylor and Mollie King.

Demonstrating the responsibly-sourced materials that are featured in the car, British Supermodel and activist, Adwoa Aboah wore a specially commissioned dress designed by British designer Ashley Williams, which was crafted using the vehicle’s ‘suede cloth’ textile, derived from 40 recycled plastic bottles.

Customers have the option to choose responsibly-sourced fabric for the interiors made from recycled polyester microfibres, from items such as plastic bottles – in fact the equivalent of 53 plastic bottles go into each vehicle specified with these seats.

British fashion house Mulberry reimagined sustainably-sourced eucalyptus interior material of the new Range Rover Evoque into a concept luxury travel collection inspired by the SUV. The new weekender bag shape is quilted with the car’s grille pattern and comes in two colour ways: Ebony with ebony trim, or ebony with Oxblood trim.

 

The Deutsche Opera reopened its doors for the 25th Opera gala in favour of the German AIDS Foundation. It was an exclusive evening for more than 2.000 guests from Politics, Economics, Culture and Media.

The Initiators Dr. Alard von Rohr and Alfred Weiss were especially delighted by the visit from the German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier: “It is a great honour that the Federal President himself supports the great cause and greets our guests.” With this year’s receipts of 540.000 Euro, a large amount can be contributed to the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The annual highlight of the event is the presentation of the “World Without AIDS Award,” which was awarded to the First Lady of Namibia, Monica Geingos, and to Sir Bob Geldof, for their outstanding engagement in the global fight against HIV and AIDS.

“I am honoured to receive the World without AIDS Award. I regard it as an encouragement not just for me, but for all the people who are relentlessly fighting to change the course of the HIV epidemic. Only by joining forces in Namibia, in Germany and across the World can we achieve our goal towards ending the AIDS epidemic as a public health threat by 2030. We are close to achieving an AIDS-free generation and we must maintain the momentum”, said the First Lady at the awards ceremony. And Sir Bob Geldof added: “It was great to be back in Berlin and see the enthusiasm about the fight against AIDS. I am proud to be honoured at this event. But we must not stop until we succeed. I really hope, Germany will increase its contributions to the Global Fund. It is the best tool we have.”

Gucci feted the Gucci Guilty fragrances and new faces of the soon-to-be launched advertising campaign with a party at LA’s Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Illuminated by a suggestive #ForeverGuilty neon sign, the private event was attended by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele together with the testimonials, Academy Award-winning actor, musician Jared Leto and award-winning singer songwriter Lana Del Rey.

Courtney Love, who has a guest appearance in the video of the new campaign directed by Glen Luchford, was also present at the party.  Guests enjoyed DJ sets from Alex Cameron, Jacques, and Charlotte Lindèn Ercoli aka Charles.

 

India Film Project into its 8th edition, saw Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, Vikram Aditya Motwane, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Kaneez Surkha, Mallika Dua, Anand Tiwari, Ashish Chanchlani, Bhuvan Bham, Prajakta Koli, Hansal Mehta and many more being present .

 

A fabulous opening ceremony was experienced as well-known Vicky Kaushal became the show opener for the festival and charmed the audience with his humorous and interpersonal storytelling. He shared anecdotes from his life and gave a verbal glimpse of his journey to becoming India’s most admired actor. But most importantly, he opened up on #MeToo, calling it “a beautiful, cultural shift” and said, “It doesn’t matter if it’s one day or 10 days or one year or 10 years for a woman to come out and share her story” Kaushal said.

Moving on the erudite Vikramaditya Motwane, Rajeev Masand and Baradwaj Rangan discussed the nuances of film critiquing and how there should be quality control when it comes to both making cinema and writing film reviews online. They discussed how reviewing films for millennials has drastically transformed and Instagram is easily accessible for everyone to know what others think about a certain film. They also discussed how Sacred Games became a commercial breakthrough for and he said, “It shocked me when people called Sacred Games a Blockbuster.”

Talking about comedy, three renowned comedians of India came together to talk about  Comedy in India and how our jokes are a low hanging fruit. Mallika Dua, Bhuvan Bam, and Kaneez Surkha interacted with the audiences and answered their questions while calling out online trolling and moral policing. They shared their anecdotes on how they handle virtual hatred and admitted to having received death threats. They do realize their social-responsibility to bring out content that doesn’t hurt anyone’s communal sentiments, but they did call out the hypocrisy amongst Indians.

Second Day of the India film project had Shikha Talsania, Mithila Palkar, Anupama Chopra, RS Prasanna, Sudhir Mishra, Sona Mohapatra, Ali Fazal, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vidya Vox, Benny Dayal coming together to discuss the future of Content.

Luxury multi-brand store Pitaraah in association with Sahil Kochhar, unveiled the designer’s debut Haute Couture collection at a soiree held in association with Akhil Verma, founder Pitaarah, the multi designer store at Defence Colony, New Delhi.

Designer Gaurav Gupta celebrated the opening of his brand-new couture flagship in an exclusive fashion party with special guests Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Prateik Babbar and Miss World Manushi Chillar.

Located in the heart of the historic Mehrauli area, the new store will be a first-of-its-kind experiential retail space unraveling the couturier’s dreamscape, with an added focus on haute couture and customization.

Spread over 5000 sq. ft., it includes five-concept rooms – an haute couture and customization atelier, a bridal salon and a demi couture section for women. Fast emerging as a key focus for the brand, the GG Man collection will also have a dedicated space, including formal and occasion wear for grooms. To celebrate this landmark occasion, the brand presented its latest couture collection ‘Descend’, through an immersive theatrical experience by artists collective, CROW, which brought together fashion and conceptual art through living installations scattered through the store.

Renu launched Ren Home, a pret line of home accessories (All made in India) that she has been working on for the past few months. A sit-down evening in a SoBo hotel dedicated to the fighter that lies within each one of us was the premise of designer Maheka Mirpuri charity gala & fundraiser for Tata Memorial. The 6th edition of the fundraiser under the aegis of her charitable foundation MCan is in aid of the underprivileged cancer patients fighting the deadly disease at Tata Memorial Hospital.


The glitterati showed solidarity to the noble cause by gracing the fundraiser. Meera Gandhi, Global Philanthropist and the founder of the Giving Back Foundation hosted a reception in honour of HRH The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex KG, GCVO, CD, ADC (P), in her Park Avenue Residence, previously the historic home of former beloved First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Guest of Honour, HRH the Prince Edward, who is tenth in line to the throne, also heads the Duke of Edinburgh’s award, which supports and advances Sports, especially Tennis for Youth, and Ms Gandhi is the founder of the Giving Back Foundation which aims to develop women and children with the medium of education.

As the reception marks the coming together of HRH The Prince Edward as well as Meera Gandhi, both proponents of social work with children, as well as other known influential people, the conversation primarily circulated the future of the youth, and how to better invest in their well-being as well.
