430This collection has been a meditative, inward journey for me…serene, calm, silent and solitary, said Payal Jain about her Inde Bleu holiday collection.

It is representative of the long arduous journey of the free flowing river, meandering through the varied terrain, collecting infinite experiences along the way and finally merging into the vast ocean. As the river begins its journey from a tiny trickle at the top of the snow capped mountains, thus begins the story of “Inde Bleu.” The young river descends down shyly to discover every one of its strengths and attributes. As it glides down, it loses many parts of itself to nature.

“Inde Bleu” embodies fabrics, textures and weaves that are based on a language of profound and intimate spirituality. Carried forth by a meditative colour palette, rhythmic patterns, capricious currents and a bold attempt to bend techniques beyond their customary horizons & forms, the journey begins with crisp and structured shift dresses, jackets, dresses, waistcoats, giles, jodhpuri jeggings and trench coats to soft, free flowing gowns, full circular skirts, multi-panelled Angarkha tunics and voluminous blouses. The rich and vibrant indigo hues wash over the decadent silks, lustrous satins, earthy linen silks, creamy georgettes and fluid charmeuse. Ancient Mughal costumes have inspired the silhouettes, detailing, patch and appliqué work delicately and painstakingly crafted, tie-dye, arashi, bandhej and shibori inspired prints and patterns weave into the threads of the soul….sublime blues and whites calming the senses. Organic crochet appliquéd with indigo yarns, sea shells, bone beads, sparkling sequins and semi-precious uncut coral and lapeez create an ocean of under water corals, waves formations and sea life interpretations.
