430 3The 2014 edition of the annual fund raising Guggenheim International Gala was held at Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and was made possible by Dior. The museum is particularly famed for its modernist ideologies and the artists that it represents, most crucially Raf Simons. With the event getting bigger and better every year, as much as $2.1 million were raised this year.

The honourees included notable names photographer Carrie Mae Weems, the Chinese artist Wang Jianwei and the founders of the German artist group Zero-Heinz Mack, Günther Uecker and the late Otto Piene.

Speaking of Dior’s association Guggenheim, the brand has worked at milestone levels to associate with the world of art and not merely be a provider of luxury goods.

Meanwhile, the list of attendees this year comprised names of Zoë Kravitz, Leelee Sobieski, Olympia Scarry, Sidney Toledano, William Mack, Harry Macklowe, Peter Marino, Alex Katz and Larry Gagosian amongst many others.

430The exuberant multi-designer store Atosa, Mumbai was met by an exclusive trunk show by designers Abraham and Thakore. Titled ‘Urban Shikar’, the collection featured the wilderness of the city area in the present day scenario, through a palette based on golden hues of wild silk.

Keeping it entirely Indian and natural, the collection evokes many shades of khaki with its references to safari, uniforms and combat. Likewise, the range of fabrics included classics such as tussar, eri silk and other wild silk yarns woven by weavers from all India, who have explored different techniques from varied regions.

Enjoying a first-hand experience of the designers’ exquisite creations were some of the elites of the city, fashion designers and Bollywood celebrities like Ekta Rajani, Aparna Badlani, Sona Mahapatra, Dipanita Sharma, Amit Sadh, Umesh Jivnani, Nachiket Barve, Troy Costa, Sujal Shah, Vikram Raizada, Shahid Datawala and Rashmi Nigam to name a very few.

The 2015 Calendar is the 16th edition in the collection and is dedicated to celebrating Campari’s unique and intriguing history and the intrinsic stories linked to twelve of its best-loved classic cocktails. From the classic Negroni cocktail, created by Count Camillo Negroni himself in 1919, to the modern Campari Orange Passion, a contemporary spin on the classic Campari Orange, the Calendar explores and celebrates the recipes that have stood the test of time and are still adored in today’s modern world.

The studios were transformed into a modern speakeasy, where guests were invited to enjoy all the Campari cocktails depicted in this year’s Calendar.

430Designer Shradha Murarka showcased her Fall Winter 2014 collection for her label Vizyon at Four Seasons.

Titled ‘Cocktails at Tinsel Town’ the collection is a journey into the dynamic glamour with which women used to express their femininity in older times.

To give it a very antique and vintage feel, the designer used floral appliqué pleats in rich silks, romantic draping, soft transparency, and draped asymmetrical necklines. Flowing drapes, plunging necklines, delicate and opulent styles were all creatively used by the designer to keep intact the glamour quotient.

In harmony with its underlying theme, the colour palette of the collection is refined and feminine, including shades of bright red, emerald, black, navy and burgundy, purple, green, champagne and turquoise along with silver and gold which give a very mystified effect to the onlooker.

Celebrating the collection with the designer were the crème de la crème of the city like Ira Dubey, Prerna Goel, Shaheen Abbas, Pratima Bhatia, Marielou Phillips, Sumati Raheja,  Kiran Datwani, Natasha Chib, Shibani Aggarwal, Shruti Vora, Maneka Thadani, Payal Singhal and Hina Arora amongst many others.

430Burberry first global festive campaign starring Beckham junior was launched with a screening of its ‘From London with Love’ film at the Burberry global flagship store, 121 Regent Street.

Directed by Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey, and starring Romeo Beckham in a specially created role at the heart of the story, which celebrates gifting during the festive season, as a cupid boy who delivers a gift to a young couple, played by British models Hannah Dodds and Anders Hayward, who then take him on a magical journey of romance across London, surrounded by music and dance as 50 impeccably dressed dancers give a performance inspired by the “golden age of cinematic musicals” to a song by British songwriter Ed Harcourt titled “The Way That I Live”.

Cast members Romeo Beckham, Hannah Dodds, and Anders Hayward along with Victoria and David Beckham, British musicians Benjamin Clementine, George Ezra, James Page, Gary Powell, Daydream Club, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Richard Jones; British Burberry models Charlotte Wiggins and Sam Rollinson; Amanda Berry, Daisy Lewis, Alice Naylor-Leyland, were few amongst 500 guests who attended.

430The Accessories Council Celebrated the 18th edition of the annual ACE Awards in Manhattan on 3rd November. Hosted by Hal Rubenstein, the ceremony this year included 12 different categories for accessories excellence awards, ranging from Speciality Retailer to British Visionary.

The honourees included Kate Spade New York’s Deborah Lloyd for Brand of the Year Award, Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Designer of the Year Award, Kerry Washington for the Style Influencer Award and Google Glass for the Fashion and Technology Award, amongst many others.

?????????Gucci hosted a private cocktail party to celebrate the re-opening of its newly renovated Beverly Hills flagship store. The 22,000 square foot store has been redesigned by Creative Director Frida Giannini to showcase the complete collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewelry and accessories, as well as the Gucci children’s collection.

In keeping with Gucci’s longstanding history with Hollywood, a new third floor featuring a wrap-around terrace overlooking Rodeo Drive is now dedicated to red carpet dressing. A special display exhibited a selection of Gucci Première couture gowns worn on the red carpet by Blake Lively, Salma Hayek Pinault, Taylor Swift and Mila Kunis.
