430One of the most celebrated designers of India-Ritu Kumar opens a new flagship store at the Palladium Mall in Mumbai. Introducing the first ever tuxedo line under the label, the designer celebrated the launch of her latest Autumn Winter 2014 collection which was hosted by Amrish Kumar and Puja Anita Dadlani.

Comprising of a variety of evening and day wear ensembles, the collection effectively caters to the modern day contemporary Indian Woman. The wrap dresses, maxis, shifts, skirts, jumpsuits and trendy trouser style suits and jackets were all in bright colours full of life. The silhouettes were mostly structured embellished with applique on surface Rajasthani and Gujarati prints and embroideries.

Moreover, glimpses of the fall winter range, designed by the famed French designer Samy Chalon, is also a part of the store.

Rejoicing on this auspicious occasion were some of the shining faces of the industry, including Waluscha Robinson, Ira Dubey, Rashmi Nigam, Amrita Raichand, Deeksha Seth, Sheena Sippy, Anjana Sukhani, Nisha Jamwval, Apeksha Chopra, Priya Tanna, Anuja Bijlani, Vikram Raizada and Archana Pillai amongst many others who were completely flabbergasted by the vintage and luxurious experience at the store.

The collection was a mix of textures from hand painting, tie and dye to shibori with varied effect, derived from unconventional processes in Fushia, orange and reds to the cool tones of indigo , blacks and purples worked upon simplest of natural fabrics like, silk, cotton, linen, chanderi and maheshwari.

The art on every garment showcases the talents and work of our students, said Dr Radhike Khanna. We showed a plethora of techniques, styles and art forms to Mrs Krishna Mehta, who came back with a wide range of expectancy. We were able to creatively modify her conceptions into designs, using the strengths of our students, effectively

430Vero Moda launched Marquee, a limited edition collection designed by Karan Johar at a glitzy fashion evening attended by the crème de la crème of Mumbai at Mehboob Studio, Bandra.

430India’s first cinema-inspired fashion house, ‘DIVA’NI’ joined hands with Royal Fables to host a one of kind ‘Dawat-E-Awadh’ to showcase their latest bridal collection titled, ‘First Lady by DIVA’NI’. Held on 17th September, the celebration included a royal ‘dawat’ with some exquisite mouth-watering recipes, which recreated the magic of love and royalty.

Speaking of the store’s bridal collection, 2014, it is replete of diverse modern textures and royal colour palette. Filled with dramatic accents, the collection is made from the finest Indian fabrics, with soft silhouettes and royal contemporary embroideries.

The event comprised of mind-throbbing performances from the giants of the music industry, like Afrojack, Duran Duran, Jennifer Lopez, KISS, Nico and Vinz, Pitbull, The Band Perry and Usher amongst many others.

Stella McCartney kicked off the Bavarian Oktoberfest season with a party along with first time showcase of her spring’15 collection at the St. Emmeramsmühle beer garden in Munich. The pre-Oktoberfest party was co-hosted by Susanne and Christoph Botschen and Joshua Schulman, President of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus Group International. In the true spirit of the 181 year old folk festival, the beer garden was decorated with Oktoberfest games including a traditional carousel and the strongman game “Hau Den Lukas”, an Oktoberfest staple.

Models dressed in pieces from the Spring 2015 collection mingled with the guests. The Happy Bavarians performed traditional songs and dances, in vegan lederhosen. Guests were treated to a beautifully executed vegetarian twist on Bavarian fare, which included Vegetarian hot dogs, Pretzels, Chicoree leaves with traditional Bavarian Liptauer and Obzada. Guest drank Hugo’s (a traditional German summer Drink), Taittinger Champagne and Spaten Beer.

Nestled below the kemps corner flyover in a heritage property the store, stands out for its captivating historic feel, with its”haveli” inspired store design, antique doors and garments hung from old “Gujarati” swing chains in an intricate spiral staircase, reminisces of a royal haveli from Gujarat.

430FENDI celebrated, in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the exhibition ‘AD Intérieurs – Decors à Vivre’ of which FENDI is main partner.

In the exhibition FENDI presents the installation ‘Le Pavillion Chinois’ by François Joseph Graf and introduces a long term collaboration with the French decorator and architect.

The exhibition will last until November 23rd, features decors from a selection of internationally known designers, decorators and architects that were asked to imagine and build a room starting from exceptional pieces they could choose from the archives of the Museum.

430First-of-its’-kind art Installation 10-14 feet long The Freedom Bike, made entirely using vintage and interesting articles from all over the country, meeting interesting people and collecting “rare” things. A brain child of designer Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth, take on a challenging project called “The Great India Collectors’ Ride”, conceived and led by OLX and xBhP, the largest motorcycling community in India.

The Great India Collector’s Ride is a series about two bikers traveling across India, in search of vintage and interesting articles, their journey started in Delhi, covered Jaipur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vizag, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Agra before finally culminating in Delhi wherein designers Prateek and Gautam coalesce the items collected and create the unique and monumental installation.

Actors and avid biker enthusiasts and collectors,  Rohit Roy and Rajeev Khandelwal unveiled the Freedom Bike along with Tarun Tahiliani, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, Nandita Basu, Gauri Karan, Gautam Rakha, Aparna Chandra, Gautam Kalra, Anuja Gupta and Vikrum Baidyanath to name a few.
