Burberry reveals the DK88 bag, named after the house code for the brand’s signature honey-coloured gabardine fabric, the DK88 Bag features styles reimagined in Burberry’s new Trench Leather.

Selected designs feature an oversize brass tone lock, and an internal pocket made especially for the accompanying key. Made in Italy, the new Trench Leather is embossed with a unique pattern reflecting the distinctive twill finish of cotton gabardine, the cloth Thomas Burberry patented in 1888, and which is still used today to make Burberry’s signature made-in-England trench coats.

The DK88 Top Handle sits at the heart of the collection, and is defined by its timeless silhouette, oversize lock and sculptured handle.

Over 200 guests including Serena Williams, Ellie Goulding, Matt Smith, Jourdan Dunn, Ruby Rose, Christine and the Queens, Olivia Palermo among others attended the celebrations hosted by Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, at the brand’s Spring Street, New York store, which has been transformed to bring all facets of the new bag to life. The space has been transformed with bursts of colour, and includes a set of installations and interactive displays, designed to reflect the new bag’s painterly colour palette.

The Mrs India Dubai International 2017, held at the Godolphin Ballroom, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai witnessed a spectacular evening which saw Jyoti Dave crowned as the winner while Sadia Pathan Baig and Radhika Sharma emerged as the first and second runners up.

Presided by the Guest of Honour Respected His excellency Mr Suhail Al Zarooni , Chairman of Al Zarooni Foundation, was followed by hugely interesting Fashion show which centered around themes like Arabic Wear, Gym Wear, Indian Ethnic and evening gowns, with various rounds for the 21 participants who competed in the prestigious beauty pageant.

Gucci debuted its first virtual reality film, Soul Scene, inspired by Alessandro Michele’s Pre-Fall 207, at a celebration hosted at the Mildmay Club in Stoke Newington, London.

Offering a mesmerising perspective from the center of the dance floor the VR film, reveals aninteractive 360° point-of- view. With vibrant color and spirited dance moves, thespellbinding continuous shot follows the dancers from when they enter the club and wascaptured by director Glen Luchford with art direction by Chris Simmonds.

The inspiration for this year’s biggest night in fashion and Costume Institute exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is designer Rei Kawakubo, the mastermind behind the clothing line Commes des Garçons.

The exhibition, titled Art of the In-Between, will open on 4 May and sets out to show Kawakubo’s “ability to challenge conventional notions of beauty, good taste, and fashionability”.

For exhibition curator Andrew Bolton, “Rei has influenced a whole generation, not only of designers but also artists and architects through her practice”. The exhibition of her work is the Met’s first exhibition of a living fashion designer for more than 30 years.
