Day two of London collection men’s had Nasir Mazhar, Christopher Raeburn, Allex Mullins showcasing what we can look forward to wearing in SS17. The days highlight was Nasir Mazhar show as the designer injected colour into his usually monochrome androgynous looks. With reds, blues and greens seem to be a theme in his distinctive style which is sporty, street style and inspired by the adventurer.

1

MCM X Christopher Raeburn featured a sharper, redesigned camouflage print in shades of silver grey, canary yellow and ocean blue paired with navy and black and styled with the reworked classic canvas bag pack in matching vibrant hues.

2

Agi & Sam explored menswear in upholstered jacquards, with slim trousers and fitted zip-up jackets and unisex brothel creepers shoes. Hardy Amies, an all denim show had denim jackets with silver branded buttons teamed with bleached, knee-torn jeans and tuxedo jackets with less structure in its fitting.

3

Matthew Miller showcased both men’s and women’s wear clothes, there was bleached denim and a skinhead aesthetic, bomber jacket with pin badges styled over a blazer and loosely cut trousers.

4

Headlined Made Los Angeles, Creative director Jeremy Scott, showcased his love for the city through both spring 2017 (for men) and resort 2017 (for women) coinciding with London Collection Men’s shows.

5 6It was a kaleidoscopic 60s-inspired collection of neon colors, trippy patchwork with flower power. It’s all the different ethnicities of Los Angeles—there’s Indian, Guatemalan, Mexican. I did pop flower that was the very surfer style of the ‘60s LA. Like things I love to wear, there were beads and the bohemian look and goth, but all in a very pop way said Scot about the collection.

The new “boxer braids” trend, more commonly known as cornrows, has taken center stage and has been attributed to celebrities and UFC fighters like Ronda Rousey, Black Lively and of course, the Kardashians.

c1The latest hair trend taking over social media is boxer braids, but is the style really that new? Regardless of the fact that black women have been wearing the style since forever. While there’s nothing wrong with the style and people wanting to copy the look, braids are not a “new favorite” and simply an old classic: Cornrows, similar to braid styles like French braids that have been around for decades.

C 2The boxer braid look is no-fuss, low maintenance – and works just as well in the gym or the boxing ring as on the red carpet.

Tattoos are beautiful body adornment but there’s been a new trend in body art, the blackout tats and the web and instagram is freaking out as everyday there are new studies. Originally started from Singapore, the blackout tats cover your body in solid, black ink or whichever colour you like.

Black Tattoo

Unlike the earlier trend that have been popular, this artwork covers major skin viz whole arms and legs, the entire back, the bulk of your décolletage and so on. Consider as the golden age of tattooing as by now everybody is fairly educated hence go for these extreme forms.

2

Instagram has nearly 12,000 posts with the hashtag #onlyblacktattoos, with arms and legs inked entirely in black pictured. Whilst the only issue is you can’t go back after inking the whole body.

Just when Punjab is so much in the news for how its youths in the state fall prey to drugs, we hear that the historic Town Hall in Amritsar, will be the site of the new Partition Museum by Kishwar Desai, Chair of the Arts and Cultural Heritage Trust, which has initiated the project and will manage the museum.

A prelude to that Ms Kishwar organized an exhibition The Partition Museum Project titled ‘Rising from the Dust: Hidden Tales from India’s 1947 Refugee Camps’, rekindling the memories of Partition with books, films, photographs, art, letters and oral testimonies.

1

Browsing through the archives, we came across Bhagwan Singh Maini and Pritrm Kaur, who were in a refugee camp in Amritsar and had seen their world torn apart in Pakistan due to Partition. They could bring only a few things with them while leaving home (Pakistan), among them were a phulkari jacket and a brown leather briefcase.

Through this project, we hope to eventually create a physical space that will be a memorial to the personal and human tragedies of this event, a commemoration of the resilience of people that migrated, a reminder of the need for continuous dialogue says Kishwar.

Out of many dark stories about the state, there comes a hope as Punjab government has donated one wing of the Town Hall for the project which will be built through contributions and donations from private and public sources.

The Zegna Oasis traces its roots back to the 1930’s when Ermenegildo Zegna, gave new life to its native town, Trivero, in the Alps around Biella. In addition to building houses for employees and the health, training, sports and recreational centre for the fellow citizens, his project also included the complete reforestation of the mountain slopes with 500,000 pines, hundreds of rhododendrons and hydrangeas and the construction of a road, dubbed “the Zegna Panoramic route.

01

The main goal of the Zegna Oasis, the first example of environmental patronage in Italy, is to maintain the presence of human being in the mountain and to protect, safeguard and improve the area, though communication with visitors using innovative “visual alphabet” signs that describe animals, plants and minerals of the territory and illustrate local history.

02

In the heart of Oasi Zegna is Bielmonte, ideal destination for families as well as outdoor enthusiasts, allows one to experience the mountains in their most authentic aspect within an uncontaminated, natural environment, extensive network of hiking trails to be explored on foot, by horse or by mountain bike, as well as personal enrichment, knowledge and fun and equally relaxing wellness center take care of their guests with personalized treatments using only natural products.

1

The hotel, thanks to its shape and the use of fir wood for the external facade, complements the surrounding mountain environment. It was designed in 1964 by the great architect Luigi Vietti, who managed to convey an extraordinary synthesis of architecture and nature in the Bucaneve Hotel.

2

Comfortable and stylish, their 22 rooms reflect the original architectural style of the Hotel and offer guests the feel of an authentic mountain residence. Ristorante Bucaneve philosophy is largely based on the use of local ingredients prepared in accordance with the mountain tradition in a manner that emphasizes the quality of the raw materials.

The Zegna Oasis is also one of the cells of the Ecomuseum of the Biella area, the institute for the collection and the witness of the wealth of typical traditions, history, culture and economics of the area.

This time around CHANEL chose Jacob Sutton for his modern, elegant style and technical artistry for its new advertising campaign for ALLURE HOMME SPORT.

The new campaign brings three new faces: Hugo Parisi, a professional diver from Brazil; Adam Crigler, an equally professional American skateboarder; and Luke Grimes, a young American actor featuring in three separate films each illustrates a sport where man encounters nature with boldness and prowess: diving, downhill skateboarding and horseback riding.

2

Timeless and profoundly modern fragrance, the signature of ALLURE HOMME SPORT Cologne is an olfactory construction in four distinct yet complementary facets that resonate with one another.
