As we move forward with the coverage of Day 3 for LCM AW2016, there were brands who had no interest in showcasing the usual coat, shirt and tie, while it was more radical and outré. At JW Anderson, it was silk pyjamas decorated with trippy images of snails cropped floral jacket with quilt and a trench coat in criss-cross straps of fur.

Belstaff is for adventurous individuals for A/W 2016, Belstafff’s “Heading North” collection was based upon cold adventure riding and created pieces that can handle tough terrains, snowy mountains and icy glaciers in comfort and style.

With Kilgour and John Lobb skipping the use of models instead showcased its collection alongside the 100s of paper pattern pieces used to create the season’s collections. John Lobb suspended its latest line of footwear, the shoes were little masterpieces while Lobb embraced the sneaker rage and added a black trainer to its store.

Alexander McQueen’s was all about embellishment and interesting patterns. For A/W Sarah Burton adorned coats, knitwear and suits with Victoria moths. Embroidered military jackets and silver sequined embroidered jackets were predominant while the color palette was heavy in black, white and silver .

On the other end the runway show from Moschino featured both women’s and men’s styles, the looks where fun and adventurous. bringing on stage clothes ‘two-dimensional’ in saturated colors, slogans ,a punk style explosion by Jeremy Scott.

430Roohi Jaikishan, Executive Director, RR Oomebhoy Pvt. Ltd. (RRO), along with Cecilia Morelli Parikh & Julie Leymarie, Co-founders Le Mill, co-hosted a select soiree to formally launch author Farah Oomerbhoy’s first fiction novel – ‘The Last of the Firedrakes’, with  excerpts from Shweta Bachchan Nanda.

Debut author Farah Oomerbhoy says, “It was a long journey to completion; a hobby at first. I didn’t really think I would ever publish this book when I started imagining the world of Avalonia. It was only when I stood before a tapestry in my grandmother’s house that I realized the magical market could easily be in the forest depicted in the tapestry. That’s when the whole story started taking shape.”

Present for the launch at Le Mill were the crème de la crème of the city including Farah’s husband Riyad Oomerbhoy, mother Zinia Lawyer & brother Rustom Lawyer, along with Chetan Jaikishan, Rahul Khanna, Rima Jain, Tara Sharma, Madhoo Shah, AD & Sabina Singh, Gayatri Rangachari Shah, Queenie Singh & Rishi Sethia, Simone Singh with husband Fahad Samar, Kaajal Anand, Divya Thakur, Shivani Aggarwal, Natasha Poonawala, Anu Dewan, Maheep Kapoor, Ashiesh Shah, Laila & Ricky Lamba, Kamal Sidhu, Devaunshi Mehta, Shalini Shahani, Laila Marker, Kalyani Chawla, Rhea Pillai, Nitasha Nanda, Abhay Soi, Pooja Advani, Prerna Goel, Dimple Nahar, Pratima Bhatia, Tanya Dubash, Priya Nathani and many more.

The Last of the Firedrakes launched in the US as a bestseller on Amazon.com. The book has been honoured as a finalist in the USA Best Book Awards 2015 and placed in the Collector’s Dream category in the Watty Awards as one of the most added stories of 2015 on Wattpad.

As usual Burberry offered an impressive menswear presentation, featuring live music, with a tribute to David Bowie.

There were military pea coat, parka, re-issue trench coat, bomber jacket, puffer jacket, field jacket, flight jacket, tailored jacket, tracksuit, wide pant, polo shirt, blue jeans came in both matte and sequined versions. It had  textures  of Wool felt, double-faced cashmere checks, double splittable cashmere wool, wool mohair, wool tweed and herringbone, cotton gabardine, mink, nylon twill, tartan nylon, long-haired fox, in Navy, black, white, deep green, military green, military red, claret, purple, camel, mustard, grey, honey, blue.

The classic Burberry geometry made a discreet appearance on scarves and the outerwear. In honor of David Bowie, models sported the glittery makeup, while others had written “Bowie” across their open palms.

We saw dapper models on Day 2 at the London Collections Men, pulling off a suit with style.  We had some key trends emerging this day which will see the season through. Starting from, Hardy Amies knows how to dress his men for both workday formal wear to weekend casual outfits. Plaid prints and pops of color take a fun and modern twist on the often boring, classic suit in classic silhouettes.

Lou Dalton’s AW16, showcased lovely knitted pieces like bottle green, heavy-gauge rollnecks and cream captain’s sweaters. Silhouettes were slouched and unfussy, with baggy trousers and soft-shouldered, rich flannel outwears playing key roles.  While Sibling made head turn with boxing theme, with men draped in gigantic knitted boxing robes in bright blues, reds and neon yellows. The designer duos made statement in chunky knit red robe with a giant crown on the back — to the leopard print denim jackets, the zig-zag printed pea coats and jogging trousers.

Sticking to her guns with a collection that flaunted the visionary’s trademark luxe-meets-street aesthetic was Astrid Andersen. This season’s range was the attention to fabrics from silky quilted nylons, technical fine-gage polyamide, thick wools and, of course, fur, Andersen managed to merge conventional fabrics with contemporary menswear quiet well.

Agi & Sam, had a splash of womenswear with huge fluted sleeves while the boys were treated to chest zip details and mismatched pockets, there were short jumper crops and jackets with nothing worn underneath. Brown hued microscopic checks looked like a clean tweed from afar.

Shannon’s AW16, titled “The Comfort and the Horror”,looked to 1980s suburban Liverpool, “It was before that time when everyone was into fashion,” he says. “I kept thinking about babysitter’s boyfriends – they’d arrive in a jacket and you had no idea where they could’ve got it. Inspired by his recent collaboration with artist Linder Sterling, he showcased bootleg printed t-shirts, patchwork shirts and outerwear, velour trackies, boxer shorts and knitwear.

American actress Jennifer Lawrence, winner for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Joy, was wearing an 18ct white gold necklace set with brilliant cut diamonds (157cts), an 18ct white gold ring set with brilliants (2cts) and a brilliant cut ruby, both from the High Jewellery Collection, and a platinum ring set with brilliant cut diamonds (5cts) from the L’Heure Du Diamant Collection.

American actress Julianne Moore, winner for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Still Alice in 2015 and a Presenter this year, was wearing platinum earrings set with brilliant cut diamonds (28cts), an 18ct white gold set with featuring an emerald-cut diamond (12cts) and brilliants (1ct) as well as a titanium ring set with Paraiba tourmalines (18cts), brilliants (3cts) and a rose cut pear-shaped diamond, all from the High Jewellery Collection.

American actress Jane Fonda, nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a supporting role in a Motion Picture for her role in Youth, was wearing a pair of 18cts white gold earrings set with white 17mm pearls and brilliants (2cts) and an 18ct white gold ring featuring an oval-shaped diamond (10cts) and brilliants (1ct), both from the High Jewellery Collection.

Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Brooklyn, selected to wear 18ct white gold earrings set with two pear-shaped diamonds (10cts) and diamond briolettes (17cts) as well as an 18ct white gold ring set with a pear-shaped diamond (5cts) and brilliants (1ct), both from the High Jewellery Collection.

German-Irish actor Michael Fassbender, nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in Steve Jobs, was wearing an 18ct rose gold Regulator watch from the L.U.C Collection and a pair of 18ct rose gold cufflinks.
