430Ashok Wadhwa and his wife Reena, hosted an exclusive dinner to welcome renowned economist, Thomas Piketty, to the Jaipur Literature Festival 2016.

As the sun came down on the second day of the Festival, an array of wordsmiths, corporate leaders and the crème-de-la-crème of high society came together for the sit-down dinner, which was co-hosted with the producers and directors of the  Jaipur Literature Festival, at the Taj Rambagh Palace, Jaipur.

The guest list included the likes of Mr. Leo and Mrs. Avni Puri, Mr. Vikram and Mrs. Tasneem Mehta, Mr. Punit and Mrs. Shreyasi Goenka, Mr. Naushad Forbes, Mr. Ronnie Screwvala, Ms. Zarina Mehta, Mrs. Bijal Meswani, acclaimed author Mr. Thomas Piketty and his wife, Julia, Mr. Suhel Seth, author and comedian Mr. Stephen Fry, Mr. Jonathan Shainin, Mr. David Mrs. Michal Grossman, Marie Brenner and Indian super-model Lakshmi Menon, among others.

Porsche Design Show FW 2016 Fashion PresentationPorsche Design CEO Dr. Christian Kurtzke and his Fashion Creative Director Pierre Costin  invited special guests to Bar 1000 during Berlin Fashion Week to showcase a selection from the coming Fall/Winter Collection 2016 from the brand.

With casual yet elegant designs for the global business traveller being the focus, its new Fall/Winter Fashion Collection, focuses on the needs of the modern man while Porsche Design Woman will offer creations for confident women, featuring masculine style elements and yet a wholly feminine look.

Starting with the selection of materials and fabrics, right down to the ingenious details, new Fashion Creative Director Pierre Costin focuses on the technical, functional qualities of the design. Eye-catching colour details, and structural elements as subtle references the motor sport that is in the DNA of Porsche Design emphasise the modernity of the look. Apart from its striking visuals, the collection is characterised by the use of innovative fabrics and new technical workmanship to add special functional performance qualities; such as with the elegant, waterproof, reversible business coat, produced with the aid of laser cutting.

AUDI Night 2016 In KitzbuehelThe “Audi Night” with some 350 invited guests, opened the spectacular weekend of racing with American actors Gwyneth Paltrow and Jason Statham making their first appearance in Kitzbühel. Audi also welcomed models Irina Shayk and Lena Gercke, actors Noomi Rapace and Luke Evans, and singer Christina Stürmer

The ski races on the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel are the highlight of the alpine winter sports season. The most challenging event in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup, the downhill race on the “Streif,” is a special attraction each year for the top sports stars and celebrities from all over the world who come to Kitzbühel.

With the all-electric-powered Audi e-tron quattro concept, Audi provided a glimpse of the automobile future on the Red Carpet.

430Corresponding to the ongoing men’s fashion weeks, Amit Behki launched his wedding collection of SS ‘16.  The evening witnessed a fashion show unveiling the exclusive collection of “custom-stitched” men’s clothing line by Creative Stop, Gurgaon.

With colour being the inspiration behind Amit’s collection, he showcased his assortment in eight different colors for each occasion, from wedding to corporate wear. It consisted of off white, beige, gold to flamboyant colors like wine & green in three- piece suits, tuxedos and Sherwani’s.

Some of the guests at the event were entrepreneur and Jewelry designer Praveen Goel, Model Hida Siddique, Interior designer Parull Mahajan, designer Amit GT and Charu Parashar, entrepreneur Sonal Jindal, photographer Ronnie Kolha to name a few.

The men’s collections / Paris Fall Winter 2016, Day 2, emphasized a new take in menswear distancing itself from Milan. As expected, Yusuke Takahashi showcased the Issey Miyake man as eclectic nomad. The collection included crushed tulip caps paired with voluminous full-length coats and knitwear in a newly-developed horse hair and wool blend dyed in vivid shades, sporty looks in a pair of tightly-knit pants, colour-blocked horseshoe motifs.

1Louis Vuitton was part art installation by Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki, while fashion runway was the 162 year history of the maison and the wardrobe of the modern man; a concept that kim Jones termed “future heritage”.

The collection consisted of old world pieces of black trench coats assured with extra-long fur belts , knee-length fur coats worn with a beret and an earring dangling from the left lobe, along with classic suits in graphite grey and French navy. There was navy silk pyjamas with a white ribbon motif that spelled out the name of the Louis Vuitton exhibition currently showing at the Grand Palais.2

Dries Van Noten showcased rich textiles at the Palais Garnier opera house, his presentation incleded pulled jacquard jackets, peacocks fronted wine velvet bombers and mandarin collared jackets . There were Turtlenecks peeked out under shirts topped off by double-breasted jackets and utilitarian wrap skirts.

 

Move over London and Milan, Paris Mens’ have arrived, known to be one of the global fashion destinations , the day 1 of the fashion week saw  Valentino, Raf simons, Haider Ackermann, Y/Project, Strateas Carlucci to name a few.

Valentino showcased lean, cylindrical silhouettes and double-face coats and dress coats with military patches being some of the highlights. The clothes were embellished with studs and crystals scattered across the shoulders of herringbone coats and leather bombers. There were tie-dye patterns adorning ponchos, cowboy shirts and field jackets too.

Y/ Project men’s collection was Gothic, techno, punk, streetwear. Glenn Martens showed in the same dark disco club basement as last season, he talked more on denim but in distorted proportions, in extralong pants crushed into leather loafers with the elongated sleeves of jean jackets turned up at the arm.

Raf Simons closed the day 1 his first post-Dior era show. Simons converted a Parisian warehouse into a maze with’50s Americana looks with hair slicked back, clothes two sizes too big and sweaters chewed to pieces. Leather bags, collegiate lettering and piped detailing all furthered the boyhood theme.

Lately, it’s the Swissness at the very heart of Tissot, the specialist watchmaker launched one of their classic timepieces – Tissot Chemin des Tourelles with their brand ambassador Deepika Padukone.

The Tissot Chemin des Tourelles is a very special piece that encapsulates an important part of Tissot’s history. It takes its name from the street in Le Locle, Switzerland, where the Tissot manufacture was established in 1907, and where the company can still be found today. The watch compliments the company’s vast years of expertise with a contemporary design with an elegant case that comes in a variety of different finishes, including polished and brushed, perfectly demonstrating the technical know-how Tissot puts into every piece.

 

This season Patrick Demarchelier shoots portraits in black and white of Dior women as romantic, gentle and natural beauties. Their hair blown with light breeze and their dresses are equally airy and delicately pleated but the contrasts are strong. The collection swings between avant garde and timeless feminity extending to accessories set off against gross grain ribbon, necklaces are embellished with a metal pendant.
