430Medusa by Sonal Jindal lived upto the hype that it had created ,the exhibit  was nothing less than a fashion bonanza up for display at the St Regis Hotel (Palladium Hotel) , Mumbai.

The Showman of the country Mr. Subhash Ghai, inaugurated the exhibition and also visited each and every stall to wish the young budding designers good luck. One could also see Reena Dutt and Nuzhat Khan checking out the latest design trends.

“I am extremely happy with the turnout and also with the designs that the new talented designers have showcased. I believe talent is worthy only if promoted well enough and I will keep on promoting young talent as and when given a chance” said an elated Ms. Sonal Jindal, Founder, Medusa by Sonal Jindal.

Day 5 of Milan Fashion Week Spring 2016 unveiled some stunning and fabulous collections from brands like Salavatore Ferragamo and Missoni.

Consuelo Castiglioni for Marni’s spring collection showed innovative designs, created with unique geometry of color and form. Models walked in slipdresses, vibrant red skirt wore under a black leather coat, black fishnet top with a yellow turtleneck, black wrap coat and lavishly embroidered black cutout tunic over a cotton T-shirt dress. Laura Biagiotti’s futuristic collection showed designs which were very modern, contemporary and artistic in their manner. Orchids printed over linen and over silk were a common theme throughout the collection. Some of Laura Biagiotti’s original dresses from back in the 1970s are also included in the spring 2016 line-up, modernized to fit the day’s needs.

Erika Cavallini’s spring offering had deconstructed classic striped men’s shirts with open backs, tailored wide-leg denim with unfinished cuffs, robelike jackets, vests in natural fabrics, white lace maxi T-shirt dress and silk shantung tunics. Andrea Incontri spring range was filled with oblong and circular shapes which appeared as jour embroidery on outfits such as metallic pink leather A-line mini skirt. Sheer black shirt was adorned with mirror appliques while a silver fabric that resembled aluminum foil was used to create dresses.

MSGM’s spring collection by Massimo Giorgetti was youthful, fresh and chic. He used silhouettes that were mainly long and lean. Silk faille cocktail dresses over gray T-shirts, oversize hoodies over tiered cotton skirts were stunning looks. Duster coats, tunics, extra-long shorts and slipdresses were also showed. Massimiliano Giornetti for Salavatore Ferragamo spring collection showcased an array of dresses which came in shades of black, bright orange and festive multicolored stripes. Long cotton sundresses came with trapeze ruffle at the top and fringed hem while long capes were decorated ruffle motif.

Influenced from nomadic tribes, Trussardi’s bohemian spring collection had oversized dresses made with striped fabrics and washed silk, roomy tailored blazers, maxidress with pleated details, suede double-breasted bomber jacket, slouchy trenchcoats and embellished chiffon dresses with geometric embellishment. Au Jour Le Jour’s vibrant spring collection showed outfits with colorful prints and patterns. Models walked down the runway in colorful sweaters, shiny dresses, leather jackets in blue an orange, sweaters and dresses with stripe details and leather mini-skirts in red and blue.

Angela Missoni took on the essentials for Missoni’s spring-summer 2016 collection. The brand’s signature stripes and zig-zags were out in full effect with long tunics, slouchy pants and oversized sweaters. The lineup also included tank dresses, slipdresses, long cardigans and polo shorts and bikinis as well. Damir Doma’s spring women’s collection was feminine and gorgeous. Damir opted for muted palette of black, white and gray. A crisp, white, oversize shirt was paired with a monochrome tube skirt in a rough patchwork of knits and rectangular panels were knotted together to make feminine dresses and tops.

Nonetheless, opening the Spring2016 affaire will be Sanjay Garg of Raw Mango, a debutant, known for reviving Indian heritage through his indigenous sari, which has withstood the onslaught of time and the ubiquitous gown. Giving us a brief on his opening show he says, the garments in my collection aim to bridge the gap between textile and fashion, blurring the categories of traditional and modern, old and new, past and present. The garments present technical advancements in Mashru that make the ‘old’ textile contemporary, while retaining the luxuriousness that has always been an important part of it.”3While we will have Shivan Narresh setting up the mood by beautifully amalgamating the nuances of art in fashion with heady inspirations ranging from French post-Impressionist painter Henri Rousseau, Barnett Newman to Italian master Lucio Fontana, with an offsite show on day 1. We will see Anamika Khanna showcase her first ready to wear, not indulging much into it she says, it is an experiment and the idea is to essentially present a collection bounded by no rules.

Day 4 of Milan Fashion Week 2016was packed with some very interesting, chic and colorful collections.

Bottega Veneta’s spring collection by Tomas Maier showed leopard prints calf shearling jackets and skirts overlaid with black spidery metallic embroidery. A pale silvery cotton dress with a crochet knitted navy and black panel bodice, fanciful full-skirted dress in peony cotton with orange braided embroidered stripes and gowns in cotton poplin with halter were highlights of the collection. Israeli designer Aliza Shalali Deizy opted for more feminine colors and embellishment for her spring collection. There was ocean inspired horizontal color stripes which ran throughout the collection. Further she showcased ostrich feather chubby jackets, satin maxiskirt and many designs which were created from men’s shirting fabrics.

Antonio Marras romantic spring lineup was inspired by works of American artist, Sergei Iosifovic Parajanov. Antonio showcased varied looks like a patterned jacket paired with boy shorts; a cropped gold jacket with elaborately decorated shoulders, clay-colored cropped utility jumpsuit and dresses with embroidered collar and gold polka-dot details. Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli showed an eclectic collection featuring sleeveless biker vest, rugged utility parka, cocktail dresses, billowing silk skirt, loud leggings, suede dresses and tops, swinging-chain embroidered vests and milk-maiden dresses in tie-dyed silks.

Ermanno Scervino’s feminine and romantic spring collection included stunning lace dresses ranging from asymmetric mini styles to plissé slip versions. There were a pilot-inspired jumpsuit, sharply cut coats and double-breasted elongated vest worn over mini shorts. Jil Sander’s stunning and diverse spring range had neatly cut blazer with little slits at the shoulders, loose, long-sleeved tunic dress with utility strap details, blue shirtdress twisted at the midriff, red leather coat and pale pink-and-mauve apron dress.

Miriam and Piero Cividini for Cividini presented an array of knitwear ranging from cropped sweater to knitted bra top. The duo used sienna linen to crisp cottons printed with geometric motifs to create stunning long dresses. A gray sleeveless blouse and skirt featuring a pattern of broken-up grids exuded eighties vibe. Gabriele Colangelo’s spring collection was fascinating and gorgeous. The creative range included color-blocked organza plissé dresses decorated with geometric see-through inserts, an asymmetric coat crafted from an exclusive material, shirtlike jacket with flared sleeves.

Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi for label Aquilano.Rimondi’s spring collection showed shirts with reverse collar and sequined sleeves, sequined miniskirts, sheer tanks and slips with a ruffled hem.  The bag’s collection called BAG-A.R presented cross-body styles in shades of cream, bright blue, black and white. Dsquared 2 designer Dean and Dan Caten took on surfer girl couture for their brand’s spring-summer 2016 collection. Models hit the runway in colorful looks with body-con scuba style dresses paired with flowing fabrics, sparkly scuba leggings, slouchy black pants, skinny tie-dye jeans and sequined jackets.

adidas Originals, the iconic streetwear label partners with Ranveer Singh to represent the brand in India with the launch of first adidas Brand Centre in the country. With this association Ranveer joins an elite club of global icons including Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora and Kanye West.

Thrilled about his collaboration with adidas Originals, Ranveer Singh said: “I am totally stoked to represent a brand that I grew up loving and has been a big part of my life. Day 3 of Milan Fashion Week Spring 2016 was highlighted by Emporio  Armani’s youthful spring lineup and Versace’s utilitarian collection.

Emporio Armani’s spring lineup captivated an easy, youthful attitude with relaxed blazers, trousers and Bermuda shorts in shades of gray and pink. Exuding an earthier mood were a cutout jacket, rumpled pantaloon pants and blazers in hues of brown and blue. Standouts were a soft pink strapless apron top with floral appliqués and open back paired with matching skirt and filmy wrap tunic tanks with matching pants. Versace’s collection was colorful, shiny and sexy. The range had utilitarian-inspired silhouettes in a dark palette of black, army green and khaki. Models walked in long, sculpted military jackets in Army green and khaki, shimmering canvas with raw edges, animal print sweatshirts, blouses and dresses. There were also few body-con dresses and thigh-baring cocktail dresses.

Anna Molinari for Blumarine’s spring collection showed voluminous palazzo pants with slits, sweeping duster coats, cropped vests, sheer tulle, bulging cargo pockets, nude dresses and skirts embroidered with black roses or multicolored blooms.  Inspired from young ballerinas, Chinese designer Uma Wang’s spring offering included slipdresses, lightweight coats and vests and dresses which had pleated inserts on the back. Some very feminine looks were a bodysuit matched with a sarong-inspired silk skirt in a striped pattern and pleated maxiskirt paired with a silk satin tank top.

Tod’s collection by Alessandra Facchinetti showed fluid jumpsuit with a peplum detail, shirts with feminine lasered-floral inlays, decorated high waist skirts, billowy shirts. Striped fabrics were used to create appealing outfits. How to make ready-to-wear even mildly relevant at a house historically known for accessories? It helps to have a grip on the clothes’ piece of the company pie. Bally’s spring range had ivory silk tuxedo jacket, double-faced cashmere vest with two long, folded panels, wide-leg drawstring pants. Clothes were complemented by classic and stylish bags with quilted rectangular fold-overs and square top-handled styles.

Veronica Etro for her label Etro showcased a nostalgic collection. She brilliantly incorporated 19th-century patterns; lace and ribbon work into her collection. Swaying down the ramp were dresses with vibrant embroidered flowers sleeves and ribbon detail, wrap sweaters and tutus worn over pants. For spring 2016, Giamba came up with a youthful, pretty and extremely wearable collection. The lineup was mostly composed of dresses, long and short, along with some saucy, slim jumpsuits, shorts and denim. The dresses were finished off by a feminine line of lace at the bottom of the hem.

Max Mara’s Sportmax label presented dockworker dungarees, leather shirts and fluted pants. Oval and porthole shapes recurred as contrast zippered pockets on trousers, pinafores and long, flaring dresses. Shirttail hems looked attractive, lapping under swingy toppers. Marco de Vincenzo showed something very creative by combining color, pattern and sparkle. He used Japanese motifs, pleated Lurex, metallic leather and other stunning textures to enhance his designs.  Gracing the ramp were weightless coats, flared pants, T-shirts, sexy cocktail dresses and silk jacquard biker jacket.

Second day of Milano Moda SS’16 had MaxMara’s spring 2016 collection inspired by sailors of the sea like Sinbad, Bluebeard and Jonah. There were striped T- shirt with extra-long sleeves, slouchy double-breasted topper in skinny stripes, sleek black pantsuit, lean sailor skirts and pants. A dress and a cardigan came with same stripes in red and white and T-shirts had inky porthole illustrations. Star motifs ran throughout the collection. Fendi collection opened with colors red, coral, white, and moved on to teal and black. The eclectic collection had slouchy bombers, neat boxy jackets, billowing blouses and gowns that invited a breeze to pass on through them. Pockets, Cutout and brace details enhanced the ensembles. Complementing the outfits were the stunning boxy bags.

After Blugirl and Luisa Beccaria,Milan Fashion staged the highly anticipated show of Fendi ‘s creative director Karl Lagerfeld,which was all about Victorian sensibility.The structural nature of the impressive handicraft work used on the clothing seemed interesting, particularly a dress crafted with sections at the sides cut away to expose the model’s waistline, using both macro and micro leather stitch work to great effect. Some dresses had pockets outlined in wide whipstitching,others featured a braided snakeskin harness. A red basket weave leather skirt and a short body con dress constructed from leather smocking was quiet outstanding.

Besides Max Mara and Fendi, day 2 had some noteworthy names, starting from Emilio Pucci,Costume National,Prada,Byblos to Moschino presenting the days Finale.
