Gucci and Dover Street Market announced their first collaboration, which will include all four DSM locations in Tokyo, New York, London and Beijing, launching with Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s first collections – Fall Winter 2015-16 and Cruise 2016.

1To personalize the new Gucci spaces in Dover Street Market, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele has taken his inspiration from the urban setting of the Fall Winter 2015-16. Gucci fashion shows. Featuring concrete panels, an old-rose pink carpet, an armchair in vibrant cherry red velvet, rough metal rolling racks, screen partitions in old-rose pink capitonné velvet, and busts upholstered in ochre, red-purple and green velvet. As a “living space” the shop will be entirely reimagined by Alessandro Michele for the arrival of his first Cruise collection.

1Many a times, I have heard criticism about conceptual avant-garde designers creating garments which are a ‘part of their fantasy world’ and are impossible to be worn by regular people. Fantasy and its figments have always remained the lot of the stories I narrate and strongly believe in.  I have been a strong advocate for the idea of making Indian wear experimental and forward thinking.  Working in proximity with lines, the flow of fabric and the anatomical make up of the body continues to be key to the Gaurav Gupta Couture collection this season at upcoming India Couture week 2015.

The forest is a place of magic. The natural state of wild land where strange things might occur and strange people might live and you feel the magic. The collection “Silt and Cipher” gives form and definition to Indian silhouettes – playing with layering, drama, intricate embroideries and flowing fabrics.

Dramatic and playful mind space combines with sophistication using deep tonal effects – from monochrome colors to tone-on-tone drama.

Gaurav Gupta will showcase his collection on Thursday, 30th July at 9:30pm, at Taj Palace, New Delhi.
