Bottega Veneta celebrated the opening of its Melrose Place concept store at 8445 Melrose Place in Los Angeles.

Curated in a gallery like concept, the 2,727-square-foot store features a concise collection of home, men’s and women’s leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, jewelry, gifts and fragrance. Designed by Bottega’s creative director Tomas Maier, the interior features all white materials such as frosted glass, transparent resin embedded with mesh, painted steel, lacquered wood and high-pile felt.

Graduates from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, husband and wife Jason Cheriyan and Anshu Arora designs are borne out of natural fabrics, where most of the work is done by hand and is meant for people interested in artistically designed clothes.

In 2006 they started their label ‘smallshop’ with two stores in Bangalore and expanded to several boutique shops in India and even to Spain. Smallshop’s aesthetic can be defined as colourful and vibrant natural fabrics which are hand processed, with a balance play of texture and pattern. The brand stands for a sense of comfort with oneself and beauty.

Winner of the Edida Elle décor award, their designs have been featured at the Singapore Fashion Festival, Delhi Fashion Week and the Wills India Fashion Week. They designed costumes for Attakalri and were invited by Samukha gallery to collaborate with artist Ravi Kashi for an exhibit in London and Bangalore.

Their label currently retails at Bombay Electric in Mumbai, Amethyst in Chennai, Ogaan in Delhi, Cinnamon, Grasshopper in Bangalore, Casagoa in Goa and Ananda in Spain.
