Often it’s been presumed that gorgeous outfits and accessories is enough to complete a look whereas hands and especially perfectly groomed nails tell a tale about woman. Beautifully adorned nails not only add extra charm but even append grace to a female’s personality.

Nail trends also tend to patronize analogous characteristics of a chameleon by changing its drift every season. While we replace the summer nail palette with dazzling autumnal rich colours of earthy greens, navy blue, Ombré and taupe which is taking a world of manicures by storm for this Fall.

The upcoming season is inclined more towards the nude, matte, beige and various creamy tones.  The dazzling metallic and glittery shades are also all set to spell an aura in the spring. These glittery shades include the one coat glitters, square glitters, bar glitters and chunky glitters. While incase of the metallic paints, bronze and silver tops the list in the 2012 chart.

The creamy pitch inducts grays, chic corals, soft pastels, and mellow yellows, wishy washy pink mixed in with cool ombre and metallic designs for the next season.

Transparent crystal nails accentuated with a contemporary approach can be flaunted for both casual as well as an evening look.

But without the red nail paint, the party look appears imperfect. The color red is a decisive facet defining a women’s inner charisma. So the red chrome will continue hitting the market. The royal retro red, the cherry red and the apple red looks wonderful and elegant with a red or black evening gown.

As red continues to sustain the next season, black too persist with its voyage in molding chic impression on the nails. Black shade on properly edged nails grandeurs the hands. Black emphasizes the punk as well as the Goth look along with the elegant and the casual.

Gold Jewellery though timeless and expensive, tends to follow trends similar to those in the fashion industry. The 21st Century Woman of style and sophistication, is practical, knows her business and is extremely efficient. Her wardrobe consists of saris as well as spaghetti dresses. The gold jewellery she likes to be identified with is minimalistic, easy to wear, lightweight, simple yet elegant.

With a similar view in mind, the key trends in gold jewellery design that would be the preference of the new and young Indian contemporary woman would be…

Golden Trends 2012

Craftsmanship and heritage – With soaring prices of gold, consumers would look forward to gold jewellery designs that justify the high price attached with the products. Moreover, craftsmanship and heritage would add to the timeless beauty of the yellow metal and further provide cutting edge fashion, which would allure the young consumers.

Intricacy – Providing creative responses to offer intricate designs rather than solid pieces that offset the high gold price; would be another driver of gold jewellery amongst the young consumer. It would allow young consumers to be able to incorporate gold jewellery into their daily lives with ease and at a lower price range. Women have the option of trendy pieces that are both stylish and cost effective.

Other precious metals – One will see more interaction of gold with semi-precious stones and other metals in order to make gold jewellery more easily accessible to people across different segments of society, as well as more approachable for the young consumers. This offers a plethora of options in terms of colours, textures and designs.

Golden Trends 2012

Gold as a jewel – Due to the price of gold, people will start treating gold as a jewel in its own right rather than a setting material and lay more emphasis on its inherent qualities and sheen.

Personalization – If people are going to spend so much more on their pieces they are going to want to make it important and special to them. Therefore customized works or specially crafted pieces, that are more representative of them are the order of the day.

ALEXANDER McQUEEN AUTUMN WINTER 2011Every other time you flip a glossy page of a glamorous magazine, or drive past a glaring billboard there is a vixen, dressed de rigueur with a skin flash enough ( considering along her self-absorbed air brushed gestures and backdrop) to make you go all week in your knees, head, pancreas or whatever. Well, where few lose it to their hormones, few to their self-esteem a campaign surreptitiously serves its purpose and sparks the desires on fire.

In modern times where marketing precedes talent, a fantasy churning ad campaign is as much a cachet of a luxury house as its coveted artifacts. Thus, we get to see a deluge of such glamorous campaigns shot by the fantasists (we mean, Karl Lagerfeld here) with insane themes on the exotic locales featuring a bunch of catwalk queens. However, where hundreds of such visual delights feature every season, only few of them stir that irresistible desire laden wave which make us stare at them for hours, or for days in some cases. And those few here make it to our hard-to-take-the-eyes-off fashion ad campaigns of 2011 list.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER SS 11 & VERSACE SS 2011

The year which saw many interesting fashion stories folding unfolding, remained eclectic when it comes to models and themes. From old masters like 43-year-old Tamara Mellon seducing her way for Jimmy Choo fragrance to 17 years old Lindsey Wixson starring in Mulberry, to androgynous model Andrej Pejic kissing Karolina Kurkova in Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring Summer 2011, the campaigns stood for unmitigated fashion and it’s no-lines-drawn approach when it comes to age, sexuality and creativity.

FENDI FW 2012 JIMMY CHOO

In the mid of the year when model-turned-actor Rosie Huntington Whiteley posed semi-nude, lying on a floor in a Burberry trench for Burberry Body, the world stopped, sighed and took notice of the Transformer III actress. Similarly, quite a shocker was the Chanel’s Autumn Winter 2011 campaign, shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself while styling was done by Carine Roitfeld, featuring one of the Karl’s muse Freja Beha Erichsen dressed up all in black as a cat sitting in a photo studio.

GUCCI FW 2011 & rOBERTO CAVALLI FW 2011

While Gucci’s Autumn Winter 2011 noir carnival exuded a mélange of colors with models like Abbey Lee Kershaw pouting her lips in Gucci gowns, supermodel Gisele Bundchen starred in Balenciaga’s Spring Summer 2011 like a specter in the woods. Moreover, the retro vibe was quite prevalent off the ramp either this year. Dior’s Spring Summer 2011 featured Karlie Kloss with 50s curls like a Marilyn Monroe with a twist.

DIOR SS 2011 & GIVENCHY SS 2011

Roberto Cavalli’s Fall Winter 2011 popped up with Natasha Polly along with two other nymphs in fantastical orchards holding the leash of a horse. Whereas January Jones stripped down for Versace Accessories Spring Summer 2011 campaign wearing nothing except label’s accessories under brilliant light and shadow effect, making it one of the most sensual fashion ad campaign of 2011.

JIL SANDER SS 2011 & BALENCIAGA SS 2011

CHANEL A/W 2011

BURBERRY BODY 2011

It plays brilliantly with the idea of suits and tailoring and reflects a balance that can be found within formal and casual looks.
