Bumped?! I am born…! (Laughing) It wasn’t that easy for sure. When I was a teenager, a neighbor was working for a known fashion company who one day asked my parents to allow me to do a campaign for them. But after few shoots I losing interest and preferred to opt for soccer instead. Later when I came to India, I decided to give it a shot and fortunately things went good, I got enrolled with Karma Modeling Agency and gradually the seed of my success started budding.

Honestly, some confidence existed inside me since my childhood. Something which always let me believe, I can do it!! That I became an international Model is certainly because of the mix of a lot of luck and strong thoughts.

When I was a kid, I always wanted to become a doctor to help people. But for first time I viewed how a baby is born in a hospital, I wasn’t sure anymore that I will be able to do that. So later I choose to study Business Ethics with the Idea to open my own NGO…….. One day.

What do you like to do when not modeling?
If I get the time then……. for sure I am known as a big Party animal. To keep my self fit, I do involve myself in various kinds of sports …….soccer is my all time favorite; I also bought my first cricket rack few weeks back. I am presently learning Hindi, Yoga and Rekhi. I actually dream of spending a day on the beach in Goa, doing nothing.

Which designers have you walked nationally and internationally?
Many…… starting from Rohit Bal to Armani.

Andy von EichWhat’s your take on Indian modeling industry? How has been your experience in this industry so far?
What you expect if you mix a crazy country with a crazy industry?!? (Laughing) It’s for sure different from other countries, in every aspect. But my experience here is mostly positive, for which I would completely credit the friendly Indian people who have supported me so much. Thanks.

What is fashion for you?
Fashion is Passion.

Modeling comes with such a short shelf life. So what plans have you held for future?
Now I am a model, but I am very much aware that it’s a temporary career option. So later I would really wish to opt for acting.

Sourendra Kumar Das tête-à-têtes with Brian Kaminer, International Designer Director from New York and notifies about the double horsemen that arrives in style this winter…

The American style clothing brand spells the true authenticity of the sports and their newest collection speaks about its classic grandeur. “The globalization of the apparel industry will continue to challenge the fashion world. Gone are the days of polyester wicking fabrics as good quality cotton always looks and performs better,” revealed Kaminer, International Design Director for the U.S. Polo Assn. brand.

The new store looks chic and is packed with modish apparel, accessories, watches, sport shoes, bag packs, luggage and the likes. “Our colour palette is hip that revolves in shades of blue, white, grey, sporty attires with pastel colours, enhanced by ultra-lightweight fabrics and even colour-blocking too,” explained the design director.

The American fashion store boasts of using material like walnut wood finished furniture, wooden flooring leather, and stainless steel trims, to give it a chic, sporty and classy feel that is accentuated with Polo game props and visuals.
