The BMW Art Cars or the ‘Rolling Sculptures’ are original masterpieces of art that demonstrate an individual synthesis of artistic expression and automobile design. Since 1975, seventeen prominent artists from across the world have created Art Cars on the basis of contemporary BMW automobiles of their times, all offering a wide range of artistic interpretations.

Lately, just after the couture show at Paris, the luxury house confirmed the departure of Maureen Chiquet, chief executive of the company, at the end of the month. Taking her place will be Mr. Alain Wertheimer,  is the grandson of the founder, Gabrielle Chanel, would take over the operational management of the company during the search for a new chief executive. Mr. Wertheimer and his brother, Gérard, who rarely take front-row seats at Chanel fashion shows or talk to the news media, have $11.8 billion fortunes and are the sixth- and seventh-richest people in France.

The last day of Haute Couture Spring Summer 2016, had Maison Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, Valentino Jean Paul Gaultier, Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. John Galliano presented his artisanal collection of cocktail dresses embellished with gold leaf for Maison Margiela. There were white skirt suits, coats were paraded with half a sleeve removed, and exaggerated silhouettes dominated the runway. Fabrics used were georgettes followed by exquisite jacquard and then leather. Faces of the models had red lipped mouth or were painted blue or black while long hair was threaded with feathers and gemstones.

Jean Paul’s creations were homage to 80’s which had big hair, bold colours, angular designs were strong evidence. Silk pyjamas and jumpsuits, pill-box hats and bleached denim jackets was an homage to the 80s Parisien disco-scene that centered on Le Palace.

Valentino models walked barefoot on ramp of roses and ranunculus. The collection Alchemy had  all pleats and patchwork with Japanese-inspired embroidery, from pale ivory to scarlet velvet with serpentine headpieces from Japanese-Italian artist Harumi Klossowska.

The street cast up-and-comers include Daniel Hivner, Jan Gatewood, Aiden Dare, Rene Ferry, Sophia Tatum, Laura Sorensen and Petra Lajuan.

The Spring 2016 campaign takes #mycalvins out of the bedroom, representing an evolution of the Calvin Klein brand’s acclaimed omni channel initiative, which originated with individuals posting selfies on social media in Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Jeans and tagging #mycalvins in the image caption. Beginning with the new call to action, “I _________ in #mycalvins,” this campaign moves from the passive, solo moment of the static selfie to live action, supporting the concept that the movement and moments of life are what creates its sensuality and sexiness.

Kanye West is opening his Yeezy Season 3 show for Adidas at Madison Square Garden on February 11th with the debut of his album Waves. West is following in the footsteps of his pal Riccardo Tisci by releasing public tickets for the show on Feb. 11 at 4 p.m.—the first day of New York Fashion Week. Moreover, with Adidas footing the bill for such a large runway presentation, West is certainly not constrained to the budget of most designers.

Jennifer Lopez kicked off her three-year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino’s AXIS theatre with spotlight on Swarovski crystals.

The international music and movie star called upon Swarovski to collaborate on the ultimate performance-worthy outfits and set designs for her highly anticipated “All I Have” show.

Over 260,000 Swarovski crystals were used to embellish a series of costumes designed exclusively by Versace, and another 75,000 crystals were incorporated into the spectacular set design created specifically for the show.

Jennifer Lopez took to the stage in a series of custom-made looks created by her longtime friend and collaborator, Donatella Versace, with costuming overseen by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn. Lopez dazzled audiences in a fabulous floor length feather and crystal-encrusted duster jacket, crystal beaded skirts, a colorful ‘BRONX’ bomber jacket and playful performance wear.

Versace incorporated seven different colors of crystal into the hand-crafted designs, including Crystal, Amethyst, Light Siam and Jet. It took over 1,400 man hours to hand apply the 260,000 crystals to the multiple designs.
