The beauty born in the hub of Netherlands who loves viewing the world which is an enormous edifice of the clairvoyant with her dazzling eyes describes Xamira who stepped into the field of modeling in the year 2010. Since then the model has been traveling all over, fulfilling her dreams along with mesmerizing others through her recital. Let’s have a short stroll with Xamira and know more about her wandering experiences.

Tell us something about your formative life and academics?
I grew up in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Utrecht is a student city situated in the centre of Netherlands. I completed my primary and secondary pre-university education from Utrecht. After my exams in July 2009 I escaped from Holland and made my way towards Barcelona to study Spanish. This was just the beginning of something way different than I expected. The next destination for me was Austria. I worked there as a bartender for two months & in my free time I was snowboarding. Back in Holland I started a Cambridge course (IELTS) for my English.  During that course of time I got an offer to start modeling in Cape Town, South Africa.

When and what was your first modeling assignment?
My first modeling assignment was an advertorial for Glamour South Africa in June 2010.

So you always wanted to be a model? If you had not been a model what else would have yearned for?
I started modeling because it gives me an opportunity to travel, see the world and meet new people and cultures. If I wasn’t modeling at the moment I would have started my university and study anthropology.

Which designers have you walked nationally and internationally?
I did several shows in South Africa for Gavin Rajah and others. In India I walked for designers from Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, to Gauri & Nainika, Narendra Kumar and many more.

What’s your take on Indian modeling industry? How different you find it from its global parallels?
I think the Indian culture has a strong influence on the industry, the type of clothes, the way you show them on the ramp, the make-up and hair, it is Indian. You have influences from out of India, but it will always come back to the roots. In other countries it is more global and international orientated.

Having been in one of the most glamorous industry how do you see fashion from as an insider’s point of view?
I see fashion as a way to create a feeling or vision for people. As a business I don’t take it too seriously, fashion is fun and creative. For me it is not glamorous, it is a kind of an art.

What do you like to do when not modeling? What are your hobbies or passion?
I love to travel and discover new places; luckily I can combine that with my work! Further I love to read and study, I too enjoy swimming, snowboarding, horse riding and doing my yoga.

How is Xamira as a person? Tell us something about yourself?
I am energetic, positive and laugh a lot hahaha… I love life and I love to have people around me who inspire me.

Tell me your beauty and fitness regime?
Healthy food and lotssss of yoga!!! When you take care of the inside, you see it on the outside ?

What was the most memorable moment of your life?
I feel like my life is full of it! The last amazing moment was in GOA, it was my first time I went with friends during Diwali and I saw one of the most wonderful sunsets in my life after a whole day swimming in the ocean! I was simply speechless.
