‘In life you must be honest first with yourself, and then you can be with others’, the girl who implies this principle in every track of her life denotes the Asturias model Sheila Peon Prendes. This 5’9 brown eyed lasso even loves helping other people and believes in fighting until she fulfills her dream. Let’s have a profound sneak peep into the life and ideologies hold by the model with Fashionfad.in.

Tell us something about your home and academics?
I was born in Asturias (north of Spain), a green province, where you can enjoy the sun & beach in summer and see beautiful white landscapes in winter. I started my career as a model there itself. I would like to show my town to all of you; it’s a beautiful place which the world must know.

The dazzling heights you touched make you stand apart from the rest. From being a simple starry eyed lasso to a ramp scorcher, how modeling happened to you?
I started modeling when I was 16. As Asturias has a very small fashion domicile, in the beginning of my career I performed for few catalogues and TV commercials along with runway shows for my city.  Then I opted for Madrid as its one of the perfect fashion destination in today’s market. Gradually I made my way towards Miami, London, Germany, France and Italy. While working abroad, I actually realized that I have achieved to become a model.   From my point of view, modeling is not only to look good, I think the most important thing is the passion and the way you act/work in front of the clients, with a right attitude to improve yourself anytime required.

How do you see the future of fashion in India?
In 10 years from now, I think India will be one of the best countries producing clothes to Europe and America. As I could see here in India, the Indians are very competitive and really hard-working.

Having been in one of the most glamorous industry how do you see fashion from as an insider’s point of view?
Working as a model in different countries, I can vision how the diverse crowd thinks about fashion. I personally hold a traditional point of view regarding it, for me fashion is not the new-fangled dress by Dior, or the latest bag by Louis Vuitton, I identify fashion as an art, as how a person (designer) can express himself/herself creating new motifs and how one carries the outfit with persona.

Where do you see yourself 10 years down the lane?
Well, we all are aware of the fact that we can use our beauty only for a short span of time in this modeling industry. However, I think beauty increases when we are more mature, our skin reflects our life and I find the essence of real beauty in those people who have executed their life in a right way to achieve all they desired. I feel very lucky as 10 years down the lane I can recite to my children all my stories and memories which I could live when I was working as a model, the places I visited, the people I met and the friends I made.

What are your passions other than modeling?
I love to dance, I love to enjoy with my friends and family, I think every bit of moment clutches the life bigger. I even enjoy traveling, knowing different countries, and different cultures, perceiving how people think based on their religion and traditions.

Tell me your beauty and fitness regime?
The most important thing for me is to be in balance. I don’t like to be in diet, so I always try to eat healthy food and go to the gym regularly to be in shape. My family gave me a good education about food, and in Spain we have the Mediterranean food which is really healthy. We just need to take care of ourselves not only to be in these industry but for the body and mainly the skin as it acts like a mirror when we grow old…… if proper care is taken now we will see the results in the future.

Name the man you find hottest?
The Spain model Alejandro Corzo Suarez

Tell us about the female models you look up to as an inspiration?
I really admire Giselle Bundchen; a Brazil- Germany based model and Esther Can adas of Spain. For me they are real models, very professional people who love their work and are not in this industry only to obtain fame.

How important do you think is education for a model?
I think education is the most important thing. A model has to be polite, educated. To be a model, only a beautiful face or a great body is not sufficient, a model should know how to sell the product, and how to play with her charm. The most imperative point for me is to be ELEGANT.

Few requisites to be followed by an upcoming model?
Be yourself.
Never lose your contact with your family and friends.
Don’t be selfish, you are not the best, you are just one more.
Don’t lose the control, be patient and you will get all you want.
To know more about modeling first you have to realize that you don’t know anything.
