Nawaz Modi Singhania previewed his new solo art exhibition titled “Portrait Study of Well Known Personalities” to city’s A – Listers in south Mumbai.

The portraits on canvas in charcoal, oils and acrylic are a tribute to iconic celebrities ranging from Hollywood stars Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise to singers Beyonce, Michael Jackson, sportspeople David Beckham, Maradona, Roger Federer, royalty Princess Diana, scientists Albert Einstein, corporate executives Steve Jobs, celebrity anchors Oprah Winfrey amongst others.“Through the years, they’ve made us laugh and cry, they have inspired and motivated us, imbedded thoughts, imbibed emotions and character in us, enthralled and mesmerized us, both consciously and subconsciously. This collection is a Portrait Study of those whom we love to love…or even love to hate..,” says Nawaz.

Christian Dior celebrates the sixty years of her brand’s visual heritage through an exhibition titled ‘The Legendary Images: Great Photographers and Dior’. The exhibition will be on display from 3rd May to 21st September at the Christian Dior Museum in Granville, France.

The exhibition will be replete of the brand’s styles and fashion through the lenses of 80 of world famous photographers like Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Erwin Blumenfeld and Irving Penn. On display will be 200 images, 60 haute couture dresses as well as a number of archival documents which will effectively summarise the sixty year journey of the brand.

The exhibition is followed by the publishing of the milestone, 152-pager book by Rizzoli, of the same title, on 30th April.

In an attempt to intermingle the American culture and lifestyle with the extremely diversified cultures of India, Namaste America, the Indo-American Association for Art & Culture, hosted an exclusive event comprising of American food and music in Mumbai. AmfAR held its annual Inspiration Gala in São Paulo at the home of Dinho Diniz, where Sharon Stone, the organization’s global fund-raising chairman, was joined by the likes of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Ricardo TIsci and Mary J. Blige, amongst many others.

Sharon presided over the live auction, which had tickets to Givenchy’s spring women’s ready-to-wear show in Paris with an evening dress, accessories and a handbag designed by Tisci, a custom portrait by Brazilian artist Vik Muniz and a Richard Phillips surfboard.

KaDeWe celebrated the opening of its one-of-a-kind campaign ‘Studio Italia – La Perfezione del Gusto’.
