The Indian unisex fashion house marked yet another legendary event in Delhi, synonymous with the city’s best curated parties, by launching its all new flagship store, ‘bhane.WIP’, with an extravagant three-day music day festival. Collaborating with the global iconic brand ABSOLUT, the festival included performances from upcoming Indian artists and featured the country’s leading designers.

A perfect launch to the store, the event included performances of artists like Frame/Frame, Curtain Blue, Madstarbase, When Pandas Attack, Moniker and the incredible DJ Mocity. Visitors and guests had great time along with the food stalls, the face painting stalls and other similar attractions at the event.

Gracing the launch with their presence were designers like Shani and Himanshu, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Shyma Shetty and Kriti Monga to name a few.

Presented by Vijayta V Gandhi and Parth M Sanghavi, DVAR, the multi designer luxury couture store opened its door for Juhu in Mumbai. A distinctive store that infuses the design sensibilities of twenty four celebrated names in the world of fashion, DVAR features the best of haute couture, bridal, ethnic and contemporary wear.

The store will be replete of collections from designers like Arpita Mehta, Amit GT, Aarti Vijay Gupta, Anju Sant Kumar, Charu Parashar, and Deepika Govind along with exclusive range of accessories, handbags and clutches from other ace designers.

Meanwhile, DVAR is designed with an effective inspiration from design styles practiced in the meccas of fashion Milan and Paris. It also houses a beautiful bridal lounge that offers traditional lehengas, Indianised gowns and anarkallis to suit every shape.

Also, to quote its add on unique feature, DVAR will celebrate one Indian Designer who has flavoured seasons with their creations and made a name for themselves across the world, with Amit GT as its first Designer of the month.

To sum up, gracing the evening with their presence were celebrities like Payal Rohatgi, Ragini Khanna, socialite Aarti Surendranath, Schauna Chauhan, Kunal Kapoor, Naina Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan among others.

Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala, ‘Met Gala 2014’ proved to be fashion’s most glamorous night and the fanciest red carpet of the year.

An event where celebrities dressed up artistically, Met Gala 2014 had the dress code of  a white tie and clothes that were inspired by the revolutionary American designer, Charles James.

It also featured an army of heavy hitters in the fashion world, including Ralph Lauren, Donatella Versace, Mr. de la Renta and Raf Simons. With Michelle Obama cutting the ribbon, the event saw worldwide fashion eminences like Sarah Jessica Parker, Lupita Nyong’o, Kendall Jenner and Kate Upton to name a few.

Pop stars Fergie, Gwen Stefani and Shirley Manson, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Angela Lindvall and Liberty Ross, came out Thursday night to celebrate Italian designer Fausto Puglisi, Emanuel Ungaro designs in NewYork.

The spring Ungaro collection, available now at Barneys, is an exuberant expression of polka dots and ruffles with pencil skirts, knitwear and crystal-encrusted bustier tops.

Top models Aryan, Amrita, Anita, Deepa, Himangini, Parvathy, Sucheta, Surbhi, Amit, Dhiraj, Gaurav , Mahek, Nitin, walked the ramp for B D Somani Institute of art and Fashion’s Annual Show held at Shri. Shanumukhananda Auditorium.

Aaradhana Somani welcomed the Panel of Judges which included stalwarts from the fashion industry like Anju Modi, Falguni Jhaveri, Krishna Mehta, Pradeep Hirani with acclaimed designer Wendell Rodricks, as the Chief Guest, for the show.

In an attempt to celebrate 15 years of existence, the founders of the Fire & Ice lounge threw a reunion party on 30th April at Tote on the Turf in Mumbai. The organisers arranged the party at the entire banquet and bar area of the venue and made profound efforts to make the gathering experience nostalgia about their old college days at the club.

Meanwhile, the party was not only for the 30- to 35-year-olds who have few options to party in the city these days, but also for the generations who never got a chance to visit the venue and only acknowledge it as an urban legend.

To conclude it all, the lounge’s co-founder Ketan Kadam’s efforts to re-collect the old times together were graced by a hub of Bollywood celebrities including Lisa Haydon, Nauheed Cyrusi, Esha Deol, Bharat Takhtani, Abhishek Kapoor, Homi Adajania, Rashmi Nigam and Prateik Babbar among others.

With intricate wooden trellis work on a backlit ceiling, artistically carved wooden arches and exquisite antique objets d’art, Lavana is an understated elegance. Chef Sunil Gangwal, has used his extensive Lucknowi culinary techniques in age old recipes to ensure that every meal that is served is as authentic and delectable.

The Nihari Gosht, Shahi Galouti Kebab (veg too), were soft, delicate, with an amazing aroma, seemed like a discovery in this year. Savouring the amazing kebabs, the real surprise was Awadhi Murgh Biryani, without being overly spicy or laden with ghee, aah sure bliss. Relishing the tickling of my taste buds we ordered for Shahi Tukda and Phirni, a perfect finish to our dining experience.

And yes the price is not exorbitant… a delight for Mughlai food lovers, the restaurant has three open tandoors, where diners are welcome to interact with the chefs.

Ritu Kumar collaborated with Bangalore based graphic artist SmruthiEswar to exhibit her work of art SEASONED, along with the launch of Ritu Kumar flagship store in Khan Market, New Delhi.

The exhibition, SEASONED, showcased a graphic depiction of the four seasons personified as Goddess in nature. An extension of Smruthi’s earlier popular artwork series ‘SISTER MISFORTUNE,’ inspired from mythology and dated art forms, it used fluid and floral art noveau designs. Creation of this series exclusively for the design house further inspired a capsule collection by LABEL in line with Spring Summer 2014 trends.

The evening was attended by over 100 guests including designer Hemant Sagar, Didier Lecoanet, Sonya Jehan, Shivani Wazir Pasricha, Vikrum Baidyanath, Sonali Jain, Sanjay Sharma, Rajiv Sethi, Aparna Bahl and the likes.

Carmen Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter, attended the prestigious Gala to pay tribute to her grandfather whose talent made its mark on history, and was the first emblematic figure of Cinema to be awarded by the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

A unique photographic exhibition “Chaplin Forever!”, retracing the most famous moments of the beloved actor and producer’s career was also inaugurated at the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

In an attempt to empower the underprivileged and bring their cause to the mainstream, muralist Rouble Nagi and actress-entrepreneur Sushmita Sen joined hands to co-host a Power Luncheon for Women on 30th April in Mumbai.

Where Rouble is known for ‘Rouble Nagi Art Foundation’, Sushmita Sen has also made a difference with her ‘I AM’ Foundation. Sushmita has always been popular for her volunteering attitude regarding events for and with a cause, and Rouble has been continuously working to help the under-privileged students achieve their dreams through her art camps. The artist has also offered a helping hand in bringing five social organizations together for a noble cause.

The luncheon was comprised of discussions including the education of these kids along with a number of other NGO heads.
