For fourth year in row, the international concept of Fashion’s Night Out, the luxury shopping extravaganza, hosted by Vogue, took place at DLF Emporio in New Delhi recently.

With participation from the world’s most desirable brands and celebrated Indian designers, Fashion Night Out 2012 showcased exclusive designer merchandise, in-store offers, unique product launches and appearances by celebrities for the ultimate luxury shopping experience.

There were Rohit Bal and Shantanu & Nikhil designed T-shirts and Sabyasachi totes designed especially for the night out created by FreeCultr and Uni Style Image. The proceeds from the initiatives will go to the Habitat for Humanity’s Women IndiaBUILDS initiative.

The event was also marked by the presence of glitterati like Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar.

The Fashion MosaicMozaic, the lifestyle store by Shilpa Gupta at Bandra, Mumbai known for the mosaic of lifestyle solutions offered through ornate settings in each room presented “Fashion Room” over wine and desserts lately.

The launch of the fashion room came along with the showcasing of creations of designers James Ferreira, Uvi, Myoho, Ritu Didwania, Mal Mal, Ritika Arya Jain, Jool and Taara by Sangeeta Khanna.

The collections reflecting timelessness and minimalism turned out to be perfect for the season of festivities and occasions. James Ferreira presented a special range embodying comfort and sensuality through drapes, irregular tie and dye forms, interesting patterns, colour blocks and an eveningwear line in satin.

A blend of classic, contemporary and fusion styles Mal Mal’s collection reflected one’s own individual personality. Myoho’s creations were a blend of Indian handlooms with a subtle modern sensibility while Uvi presented designs in his signature style with vibrant colours, floral motifs and play with textures.

Coming as a breath of fresh air Ritu Diwania’s fusionwear was a blend of the North Indian Pathan look and European baroque look. The kurtas were teamed up with straight wide legged pants with highlight being the delicate hand smocking on each piece whereas Jool Kurry unveiled a line of Avant-garde, statement making yet wearable accessories, for the first time at Mozaic’s Fashion Room.

Choo 24:7 Mumbai Stylemakers Lately, Jimmy Choo celebrated the opening of its second boutique at Palladium, Mumbai with the launch of an exciting concept Choo 24:7 Stylemakers, over cocktails at the Ellipis, a concept restaurant in Mumbai.

The concept is an interactive microsite accessible through Jimmy Choo’s official website celebrating street style photographic reportage with an image gallery showcasing stylish fans wearing Jimmy Choo across time zones, day to evening, 24:7 The evening flowing with champagne, high heels and glittering handbags saw some of the most stylish women of the city photographed for the interactive microsite that celebrates the global style of Jimmy Choo.

High Tea with Good EarthLately, the luxury lifestyle brand, Good Earth presented a stylish afternoon over high tea with Designer Payal Khandwala and host Beenu Bawa in Mumbai.

On the occasion the designer presented her collection titled, “Sadhu & Samurai”, which she had also showcased at the recently held Lakme Fashion Week. The modish yet carefree collection with long and relaxed silhouettes embodying the similarities and dissimilarities of monks and warriors turned out to be the cynosure of the event besides the style suggestions which the designer offered freely.
About her collection Payal said, “My clothes are layered, to be worn as separates to be wrapped alongside more constructed shapes. The palette embodies the origins of both the sadhu and the samurai.”

The collection which has been inspired by Lord Shiva  features beautiful sherwanis and kurtas accentuated with hoods, funky pants , bundhgalas and jackets to add a modern and comfortable twist to the traditional wedding wear. Anil Kapoor was all praise for the Fabulous sister duo who are known to create an aura of regal elegance in their outfits through their textures , handlooms and weaves.

India Fantastique @ Sotheby'sBond Street, London wore all the colours of India for the launch of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s book- India Fantastique.The book premiered at an exclusive, by invitation only, event at Sotheby’s, London. By Dame Judi Dench and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.

The designers’ work was also held at Sotheby’s, 34-35 New Bond Street, London W1, from 3rd to 5th September, to coincide with the launch of their book.Designed to literally bring the volumes to life, the exhibition was a 3-D showcase of their 25-year careers, featuring masterworks of couture, craft, textiles and art, juxtaposed with sumptuous photographic highlights from the books.

The spectacular evening had a guest list naturally comprising of A-listers such as Lakshmi and Usha Mittal, Anil and Kiran Agarwal, Gurinder Chadha, Tony Morgan, Robin Woodhead etc.
 
Surekha Winter Festive 2012Lately, couturier Surekha Jain collaborated with jewelers Rose to unveil a vibrant festive 2012 over a champagne brunch at DLF Emporio, New Delhi.

Combining heritage richness with contemporary design, the designer has infused vintage embroideries with clean lines, chic silhouettes and vibrant colors to create the collection. An aura of elegance is created with ornate surface treatments and luscious palettes of bright fuchsias, bold reds and jewel tones.

The collection boasts of body accentuating fits interspersing with flowing forms rendered through an A-line cut. The use of finest handpicked gota patti with hand cut sequence is further accentuated with dabka and baadla that render the embroidery a rare richness.

About the collection Surekha said, “For this season I dip into the Indian treasure trove of rich and rare textural techniques. My collection combines a multitude of hand embroideries on fabrics like silk and georgettes which have a traditional touch yet a contemporary feel.
