The recently concluded eleventh edition of International Talent Support in Trieste, Italy saw Swarovski Elements supporting the creative young jewellery, fashion and accessory design students.
Open to the final year fashion and design students, the competition witnessed a sparkling fashion show presenting the designs by the students judged by a panel of renowned jurors from around the world of fashion. The most talented of the students were honored with awards in the established areas of fashion, accessories and jewellery.
The winner of the Swarovski Elements International Talent Support Jewelry Award was Xiao Zi Yang, winning a prize valued at € 10,000 as well as the offer of a six-month internship at the Swarovski Headquarters in Austria.

The ongoing collaboration between Swiss International Airlines and designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed brought to the fore the new Swiss Calendar 2012-13, shot against the backdrop of “Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe”.
The fourth edition of ‘Time Travel’ themed calendar, marking the 100-year anniversary of the Jungfrau Railways was unveiled at Liberty Cinema, Mumbai, recently. The calendar shot by ace photographer Prasad Naik features images taking one through a veritable journey into the vintage fashion of past.
The unveiling of calendar was followed by a fashion presentation by Narendra Kumar where models showcased garments from the Swiss Calendar, alongside each stunningly beautiful page it. The designer recreated the magic of fashion from the 30s to present day, with model Gabrielle who is the face of the calendar gracing the stage too. Each of Narendra Kumar’s creation for the calendar portrays what elegant lady of the respective decade would be wearing.
On the occasion, Narendra Kumar, Swiss Brand Ambassador in India, said, “The idea of the Time Travel story emerged gradually, unfolding decade by decade from the turn of the last century to modern times, encompassing the spectrum of alpine tourism, mountaineering, railway engineering combined with the way fashion was worn over these years, and the way photographs were conceived and composed. Therefore the theme Time travel is perfect”.
The evening witnessed who’s who of the city all wowed by the nostalgic settings of gone by era. The launch of Mumbai Monsoon, a blend of an organic limited edition coffee grown by the adivasi farmers of Araku valley in Eastern Ghats was recently held over an art and photography evening at Tote in Mumbai.
The launch and tasting session saw an art exhibition of the Araku Valley photographs by French photographer Cluade Avezard as well as a live demonstration with narration of Coffee Art on Silk by Malaa, who specializes in working with colorful dyes on fabric.
