The ongoing collaboration between Swiss International Airlines and designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed brought to the fore the new Swiss Calendar 2012-13, shot against the backdrop of “Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe”.The fourth edition of ‘Time Travel’ themed calendar, marking the 100-year anniversary of the Jungfrau Railways was unveiled at Liberty Cinema, Mumbai, recently. The calendar shot by ace photographer Prasad Naik features images taking one through a veritable journey into the vintage fashion of past.
The unveiling of calendar was followed by a fashion presentation by Narendra Kumar where models showcased garments from the Swiss Calendar, alongside each stunningly beautiful page it. The designer recreated the magic of fashion from the 30s to present day, with model Gabrielle who is the face of the calendar gracing the stage too. Each of Narendra Kumar’s creation for the calendar portrays what elegant lady of the respective decade would be wearing.
On the occasion, Narendra Kumar, Swiss Brand Ambassador in India, said, “The idea of the Time Travel story emerged gradually, unfolding decade by decade from the turn of the last century to modern times, encompassing the spectrum of alpine tourism, mountaineering, railway engineering combined with the way fashion was worn over these years, and the way photographs were conceived and composed. Therefore the theme Time travel is perfect”.
The evening witnessed who’s who of the city all wowed by the nostalgic settings of gone by era. The attendees included Rita Dhody, Rajeev Rai, Reshma & Sulaiman Merchant, Sunil & Tanuja Padwal, Kadambari Lakhani, Jaydeep & SeemaMehrohtra, Rahul & Malini Akerkar, Parveen Dusanj, Bina & Talat Aziz, Farhad Jamal, Rashmi Uday Singh, Ashish Raheja, Archana Pillai, Akanksha Nanda, Divya Mohta, Harry Cheng and Raju & Esther Daswani amongst many others.
