A bold new chapter in Indian fashion & textiles is Neel Sutra is now open at The Oberoi, Gurgaon. Co-curated by Sunil Sethi a pioneer in Fashion and designer Deepika Govind,the name derives its essence from the rich heritage as Neel is the Hindi name for indigo dye, a distinctive natural color extracted from the plants while Sutra is a string that holds things together.

The store presently retails creations from celebrated Indian designers designers Rohit Bal, Anju Modi, Abraham & Thakore, Deepika Govind, Pero by Aneeth Arora, Pankaj & Nidhi, Samant Chauhan, Urvashi kaur, Rahul Mishra & Arjun Saluja, Gaurav Jai Gupta to name a few.

In partnership with the luxury accessory brand, ‘Choppard’, the 67th edition of the Cannes film festival kick-starts with an all new Red Carpet collection, inspired by the glamour of the Cinecittá studios, the behind the scenes of film making mecca in Rome. The festival this year presents an all new Palme d’Or, which is for the first time made in ethical gold, extracted in full accordance with the economic, social and environmental development.

The first day of the festival featured Australian actress Cate Blanchett winning the 14^th Choppard Trophy, followed by the crème de la crème of the cinema world, dressed in the 67 dresses inspired by the charisma and the mesmerising beauty of Cinecittá.

Speaking of the much talked about Red Carpet attires, CHANEL’s ambassador Gaspard ULLIEL was seen in J12 Chronographe Superleggera watch in black matte ceramic and steel by CHANEL Watches. Whereas, Blake Lively, the face of Gucci Première women’s fragrance, wore a Gucci Première black and white silk crepe fifties inspired strapless evening gown featuring a full skirt and a dramatic train, and Ryan Reynolds was seen wearing a Gucci black satin peak lapel one button Signoria tuxedo with a white evening shirt, white satin bowtie, black silk cummerbund and white leather lace-ups

As day 3 approached, L’Oréal Paris ambassadors were seen filling the red carpet with glitz and glamour. Madame Ines de la Fressange was seen sparkling with a gorgeous red gown and a bright red lip colour. Also spotted were Heike Makatsch, Ingeborga Dapkunaite and Arwa.

Day 4 kick-started with Freida Pinto, Eva Longoria, Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana and Tais Araujo illuminating the theme of L’Or Lumière with ravishing looks and exquisite hairstyles.

In the following days, celebrities were also seen wearing luxurious Montblanc watches, Antonio Banderas, Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson and Beatrice Rosen being included in the list.

However, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan rocked the ramp on Day 8 as she appeared wearing a ravishing mermaid Roberto Cavalli gown, looking beautiful in the shiny nude lip colour. Accompanying her were other L’Oréal Paris ambassadors, Barbara Palvin and Lara Stone.

Among the other highlights of the celebratory event, Sonam Kapoor wearing Chopard jewellery in a gorgeous light blue Elie Saab Anamika Khanna combination and maintained her reputation as our best-known young fashionista.

The closing ceremony of Cannes will see the awarding of the precious Palme d’Or, the most desirable gem of the festival.

Germany’s notable perfume award honored new and classic scents at the Duftstars awards gala, with designer Roberto Cavalli receiving this year’s special personality prize.

Sì by Giorgio Armani and Dior Homme Cologne topped the Prestige category, while Narciso Rodriguez for Her and Hermès Terre d’Hermès were lauded as Classics.

Coty Prestige scooped up both Exclusive prizes for Bottega Veneta Eau Légère and Bottega Veneta pour Homme.

The 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival red carpet saw Paz Vega, Sofia Coppola, Lambert Wilson, Adele Exarchopoulos, Jane Fonda, Ziyi Zhang, Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner wearing Chopard while the likes of Carole Bouquet and Kendall Jenner preferred Chanel.

The opening event also saw the brand ambassadors of L’Oréal Paris Blake Lively, Zoe Saldana, Jane Fonda, Laetitia Casta and Gong Li walk the red carpet on the day 1, with Blake Lively and Zoe Saldana who have recently been signed on as the spokespeople for L’Oréal Paris made their first appearance.

The opening also saw Mallika Sherawat in blue lace Emilio Pucci gown, joining Nicole Kidman on the red Carpet.

Dubai:

Karl Lagerfeld unveiled Chanel’s cruise 2015 collection, for the very first time against exotic backdrop, a manmade island off the coast of Dubai.

As the guests travel in a boat (being the latest fad) Chanel’s oasis set, which took two months to construct, had palm trees, cactus and henna plants; tents appointed with cushions, rugs and water pipes. “With the highest building, I thought there was a reason to show the highest fashion, ha-ha-ha-ha,” Lagerfeld said.

“A romantic idea, without any folkloric touch, of an Orient of my imagination of the 21st century,” was how Lagerfeld described a collection built on gauzy fabrics and flowing, enveloping silhouettes lit up by intricate metallic embroideries and dense patterns.

Freida Pinto , Dakota Fanning, Tilda Swinton, Janelle Monáe, Vanessa Paradis and Princess Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz were some of the A-listers who attended the show.

Prince William, president of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity hosted a dinner for 150 people at the Waterloo Chamber, which was also the former abode of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret for performing Christmas pantomimes as kids. The dinner was organised in aid of the specialist London cancer hospital and was accompanied by the Ralph Lauren, as its guest of honour, who donated multi-million pounds, for a new Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research, awaited to open next year at the Royal Marsden’s main branch in Chelsea.

Decorated with palace like arrangements, hung with giant oil paintings of monarchs, dukes and popes, and luxury cuisines, the dinner served to mark a milestone for cancer research, thanks to Lauren’s generous charity.
