Much sought after red carpet designers Sonam & Paras Modi of  Indianwear label “SVA launched their synonymously named bridal studio space at Lower Parel, Mumbai.

Born out of a passion for Indian craft & heritage it showcases Intricate detailing, elaborate handcrafting, luxurious fabrics, and exceptional styling. “Sva” the store spread over two levels has been tastefully designed by Paras Modi himself, with wood, brick and glass to give the space a cutting edge yet warm feel with the studio serving as the perfect backdrop for Sva couture and bridals for men and women. While the menswear section is on the upper level, womenwear has been divided into a bridal lounge for customised appointments and a showcase area for browsing.

The  Special Preview Evening saw the presence of celebrities Mandira Bedi, Karishma Tanna and Neha Sharma and  Satyarupa Pune.  Dressed in vibrant designs from Sva Mandira chose a canary yellow floor grazing anarkali with a sheer midriff panel (a signature Sva look), Karishma Tanna wore an offwhite & mint with delicate zari work. Neha sharma made heads turn in a beige floor length anarkali with touches of rust. Satyarupa was the muse for Sva’s signature offering this season, the Sva jacket which is a stunningly embroidered floor length masterpiece that can be worn over a skirt or narrow pants.

Bharat & Dorris hosted a felicitation ceremony on students completing intensive make-up & hair stylist course at B & D Studio.

Extending their support and to encourage students by presenting certificates, were Pandari Dada Amy Billimoria, Zulfi Syed, Kavita Verma, Shakir Shaikh, Shilpi Varma, Suraj Godambe amongst others.

 

Designer Rahul Mishra celebrates his accomplishments in the fashion industry, as he successfully completes six years in the same. Held on 26th June in Mumbai, the event was graced by the support of glitterati of Bollywood like Sonam Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin and immensely talented singer Sona Mahapatra to name a few.

Sonam looked stunning in a crepe peach coloured floral saree with a beautifully embellished blouse, accessorised by a pair of exquisite gold bangles. While Kalki presented herself in stylish western attire, in a flamboyant black top, an elegant metallic golden waist belt and grey skirt.

The Women for Women International and De Beers hosted a fund-raiser at the Royal Opera House in London, with guests Matthew Williamson, Alice Temperley, Arizona Muse, Jasmine Guinness and Jade Parfitt. Lily Cole and Lianne La Havas , performing along with Royal Opera House musicians.

With De Beers collaborating with Women for Women on a photographic project called Moments in Light, Mary McCartney shot portraits of accomplished women, including choreographer Aszure Barton and chef Skye Gyngell, talking about their moments of inspiration.

Women for Women International is an organization that aids survivors of war worldwide, with programs aimed at helping women to fight poverty by developing their education and work skills.

Mumbaikars celebrated the Gentlemen’s evening hosted by Mr Istayak Ansari & Krishna Gupta to celebrate the opening of Truefitt & Hill, a luxe barber shop from London.

Vera Wang was joined by some of tinsel town’s brightest as she celebrated the opening of her Rodeo Drive flagship at Los Angeles.

Done in a moodier palette of grays and blacks, Vera commissioned CELLUOID (The Kiss), a video installation by film artist Marco Brambilla which guests viewed for the first time. The evening benefited Barnardo’s: Believe in children, which uses the knowledge gained from direct work with children to campaign for better childcare policy and to champion the rights of every child.

The celebration of the biggest accomplishments in perfume, the Fragrance Foundation Awards held in New York City on the 17th of June which saw some glitterati faces like Chrissy Teigen, Angie Harmon and Michael C. Hall.

Hosted by Dana Carvey and Carine Roitfeld, the event was comprised of an entertaining music performance by Judith Hill and was met by the participation of guests including Marisa Tomei, Gwendoline Christie, Kellan Lutz joining Hilary Rhoda, Behati Prinsloo, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Lily Donaldson, and many others honouring the industry.

The names of the biggest awardees of the night included Ralph Lauren and Victoria’s Secret, both of whom bagged as many as three awards. Whereas, among other winners, Giorgio Armani’s ‘Prive Rose d’Arabie’ won the Women’s Luxury Fragrance of the Year award, Carlos Benaim won the Perfumer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Estée Lauder by Modern Muse won the Women’s Prestige Award, Ralph Lauren’s Polo Red won the Men’s Prestige Award and Tom Ford’s ‘Rive D’Ambre’ won the Men’s Luxury Fragrance of the Year.

The thought provoking painting exhibition blending music and film with painting, ReBORN by Manoj Maurya was held at Nehru Centre, Mumbai.

Music and Films are forms of art and assimilate easily within the masses , Speaking about ReBORN, Manoj says, “The philosophy of ReBORN has chosen me to decipher its essence to the world through my art. Each painting unfolds secrets of this universal truth.”

The summit of the day was the exhilarating play for the Queen’s Cup between Zacara and Talandracas. An impressive performance over the highly regarded Talandracas ensured that Zacara patron Lyndon Lea stepped forward to receive the trophy from HM The Queen. In fact Zacara had an easier time than even they thought possible, winning the game 10-7, and were so dominant in the first half of the match that they were 6-2 up at half-time.

The 5th edition of the Best Dressed Men party hosted by GQ India saw an eclectic mix of fashion elites including Saif Ali Khan, Rahul Khanna, Shahid Kapoor,Abhay Deol, Mohit Marwah, Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arunoday Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan with Rahul Khanna and Abhay Deol wearing a Gucci Men’s Tailoring amongst many others our men gave no excuses in dressing up.

The event also saw Bollywood ladies Nargis Fakhri, Evelyn Sharma, Kiran Rao, Anusha Manchanda, Mandira Bedi amongst other noted designers and stylistas.
