Fashion Design Council of India conducted female model auditions after a nation-wide hunt for the upcoming spring-summer 2016 edition, to be held from October 7-11, in the capital.
An eminent jury comprising veteran designers Ashish Soni, Rohit Gandhi Paras Bairoliya and Amit Aggarwal, ace choreographers Aparna Bahl and Vidyun Singh and VP Fashion-NDTV Lifestyle, Ambika Anand announced 11 new faces as shortlisted models for AIFW SS’16.
A quick gain to global popularity, prominence and prestige, the 2nd edition of Elite Model Look India, saw the aspiring boys and girls in horde to become the next international supermodel.
The contest which will tour 6 cities across India to hand pick the best talents, kick-started it’s preliminary regional casting round in Delhi, with Mr. Vasanth Kumar, Executive Director Max, Licensee Elite Model Look India & renowned Fashion Director MARC ROBINSON along with supermodels CANDICE PINTO & DEEPTI GUJRAL judging the event.
The shortlisted candidates will compete in the final selection round in National Casting along with contestants shortlisted from other cities including Chandigarh, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata & Mumbai.
Lakmé Fashion Week for the first time held the female model auditions at Lakmé Absolute Salon, South Extension, New Delhi. The four choosen faces were Khushboo Kankan, Aishwarya Singh, Lucia Hrinakova and Klaudia Kovacova .
An eminent panel of judges took the contestants through three grueling and competitive rounds of auditions of 90 aspiring models. The jury panel comprised of mix of fashion experts and exponents of the Indian fashion industry, which had Nayanika Chatterjee, Rohit Bal, Purnima Lamba from Lakmé and Saket Dhankar of IMG Reliance.
Lakmé Fashion Week will be screening female models (Indian & International) for the very first time in Delhi for their upcoming Winter Festive season. The model auditions held in Mumbai recently will be taking place at one of their Salons, on 24th July in Delhi.

Minimum Height – Strictly 5 feet 7 inches and above only
Pictures – Carry 2 sets of pictures/composite cards, with name, height, body measurements & telephone/mobile number written behind the same.
Dress Code – Upper: Short Singlet or Sleeveless/Tube Top
Lower: Tight fitted hot shorts or skirt (Please DO NOT wear jeans or a dress)

Lakmé Fashion Week held the model auditions yesterday for the upcoming Winter/Festive showcasing at the Palladium Hotel, Mumbai. An eminent panel of judges chose six winners after three grueling and competitive rounds of auditions which saw over 140 aspiring models.
Considered to be one of India’s most prestigious and esteemed launch pad for emerging runaway talent, the six divas selected for this season are Ashanti Singh from Germany, Shreya Chaudhary Mumbai, Madhu Sneha Kolkatta, Ivana Pesovic Serbia, Alice Rosario Hyderabad and Jasmeen Johal from Canada.

Styled by Kate Young and shot by photographer Bernard Hunt in the Morningside Heights, the ad campaign Chanel Iman channeling a glamorous ’70s vibe. The model is seen standing alongside Tori Praver and a 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix below the Riverside Drive Viaduct.
Iman is dressed in Basso’s bejeweled cocktail dress while Praver is wearing embellished evening gown.
France has sent shock waves through the global fashion industry by passing a surprise law making it a crime to employ excessively skinny women or to encourage anorexia. Before France, Countries like Israel, Italy and Spain have taken similar action.
Under the new law, anyone running modeling agency found employing models below a Body Mass Index of at least 18 will have to face maximum six-month of prison and a €75,000 fine. Magazines will have to tell the readers when they have altered a picture to make a model look thinner – or less anorexic, otherwise they will be imposed a fine of €37,500 or up to 30 per cent of the sums spent on advertising.
Also any website inciting a reader to seek excessive thinness by encouraging eating restrictions for a prolonged period of time will face up to a year in prison and fines of up to 100,000 euros.
Concerns about anorexia in the modeling industry gained widespread attention in 2010 with the death of French model Isabelle Caroat the age of 28. An estimated up to 40,000 people have anorexia in France, 90 percent of them women.
