Paris sees the biggest of luxury brands showcasing their collection.  Louis Vuitton’s supreme show on the Paris catwalk produced a collection that celebrated New York of the 1970s, 1980s and early-1990s, had chic, loose-tailored coats and logo-filled denims with excessive glittering jewellery.

Issey Miyake goes trekking in urban outfits that can weather the extremes of nature. Textured shirts hand-printed in pop patterns and inspired by white birch forests jazzed up the start of the show. Loose sweaters and cardigan jackets conceived in luxurious wool-cut jacquard that reflected the changing hues of autumn leaves were very stylish.

Rick Owens was a surreal mix of gothic styles and abstract play in over-size showcasing great complexity at work behind simple looking silhouettes. The leitmotif of the 41 designs was the horizontal line on coats as panelling or in the grooves of huge, multicolored bubble jacket sections were haphazardly banded around with light fabrics around the neck and shoulders to hold it together. Silhouettes were long and loose.

Fashionistas witnessed zero-degree temperature in Paris for the first day of fall/winter 2017 menswear fashion shows.

Valentino unveiled its couture-infused creations presented by solo designer Pierpaolo Piccioli following the departure of co-designer Maria Grazia Chiuri to Dior.
The dapper gentleman mixed with flashes of punk in slim bow ties came alongside multiple layering, while coats and caps seemed to channel a funky sneaker-wearing. The stylish cut of the coats collection stood out. Exaggerated lengths of sumptuous wool were used to produce long jackets — in monochrome and tartan.

Facetasm has won applauses for its conceptual styles with hints of punk in the past, there colour-rich show was an example with Voluminous layering in contrasting patterns, hoods, headscarves and bubble jackets in contrasts.  A billowing tartan cape came in typical vivid blue with stylish generous lengths of fabric at the front.

Christopher Lamaire is a master of fusing minimalism and the classic. The on-trend elements were oversize shirt pockets, belts with multiple hoops, big black leather boots and a silver applique that hung from the waist.

Colours were used sparingly with black fusing into terracotta, olive and a muted flash of lapis lazuli. The coats were cut in rich, oversize proportions and exuded softnes, floppy voluminous lapels and warm velvety knee-length coats.

‘Our Fans’ by Sir Peter Blake, collage will cover Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London’s iconic façade during part of the hotel’s comprehensive phased renovation. Sir Peter Blake, a leading figure in the art world, and often referred to as the ‘Godfather of British Pop Art’, has been commissioned by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

The immense collage entitled Our Fans, has been created to provide an eye-catching diversion along Knightsbridge. Our Fans, the largest artwork Sir Peter Blake has ever created, is a collage of 100 prominent faces, from Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren to Joanna Lumley and Jenny Packham. All are regular guests at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London as well as fans of the Group’s hotels around the world.

“Some of my first works were collages of crowds of people; this piece is in the spirit of The Beatles 1967 Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album,” said Sir Peter Blake, the artist responsible for this iconic album cover. It is therefore entirely apt that Sir Paul McCartney and fellow Beatles’ bandmate Ringo Starr should feature in the poster, during the 50th anniversary of the album.

The collage has become Blake’s trademark format and one that he has returned to time and again over the years.  “This artwork was very different to my usual way of working”, he said. “A collage is very time consuming and laborious, but this was more a matter of arranging the figures and making them work together – making sure no one had a cut-off shoulder or missing legs – that’s the skill of it. It was an amazing project to work on. Hopefully, people passing by will try to spot celebrities they recognize,” he added.

The action-packed day began by surprising guests during breakfast with the world debut of the Lexus Sport Yacht concept, a stunning design exercise that applied Lexus design language to a luxury marine experience. The day closed with the dramatic reveal at the new Faena Forum gallery of the Lexus Skyjet from the forthcoming science fiction action film “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.” A project of Lexus’ collaboration with Europacorp, the Valerian film is based on the French science fiction comic series “Valerian and Laureline” by Pierre Christin and illustrated by Jean-Claude Mezieres. Written, directed and produced for the screen by Luc Besson, it features Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne as space- and time-traveling agents Valerian and Laureline who rely on their Lexus Skyjet for transportation.

Milan Fashion week ended with Giorgio Armani stellar showcase on the last day along with previews by Asian designers supported by National Italian Fashion Chamber.

There have been lots of shaggy fur, furry footwear, thick knits, big gloves, droopy caps, face-framing neck-warmers with a focus on soft tailoring and comfortable looks at the Milan runway this season. Blazers tended to be long, and paired with loose-fitting trousers, overcoats had fur collars. Shoes were with big soles and rubberized studs or built-in socks.

Designers also opted for a rough look with half-finished accents, colours were deeper in urban shades of gray and black, with flashes of white, and colour blocks.
Giorgio Armani described the collection as “evolving codes to define an idea of elegance tuned-in to the present, but rich with heritage”. The collection shown at the brand’s HQ were long military-style greatcoats, velvet jackets, oversized shaggy shearling coats, leather macs, bombers and enormous padded jackets.
Models also wore gloves and some wore a garments referred to as “sleeve-scarves” an item that has jumper sleeves combined with a scarf wrapped around the neck.
