Adarsh Gill previewed her FW16 Defiance, ready to wear collection, for the young and sassy for today’s stylish women with sensuous appeal. Consisting of brocade jackets and capes, leather tunics coupled with velvet, silk brocade skirts and tops with applique detailing worn over boots, the collection echoes a modish language.

For the festive months ahead, the designer unveiled her couture collection handpicked from the weavers of Varanasi with embroidered accents and Swarovski detailing. Her long fitted jackets, bustier are indigenous alternative to the gowns worn over red carpets.

Last day of Paris Fashion Week, Nicholas Ghesquière of LV brings his show to Place Vendôme inspired by the women of the 1984 film Rive Droite, Rive Gauche, interpreted into a bold collection where fluid, draped dresses came with cut-outs to the waist and/or shoulders, and textures, embellishments and power shoulders were aplenty, along came metallic jackets and Lurex pieces.

Miu Miu SS17 show started on a sombre note with looks of beige, khaki and black infused with smocked details, with punches of fiery red which was soon followed by ’60s silhouette, pantsuits, coats and swimwear in retro stripes, daisies and abstract art prints.

With Paris Fashion Week just about to end, Chanel show on Day 8 slated to take place at Grand Palais is been carefully obscured, u bet no one can get bigger than Chanel specially with its A – list celebrities and robots in tweed suits opening the show. Nevertheless, other labels showcased were kenzo, Agnes B, Vanessa Seward,  ElleryY,  Junko Shimada,  Valentin Yudashkin,  Shiatzy Chen, and  Paul & Joe.

Paris Fashion week day 7 had old and new favorites with a whole lot of elegant and feminine dresses. The line has Stella McCartney, Giambattista Valli, Hermès and Alexander McQueen, can’t expect more from the day.

Stella McCartney emphasized her principles yet again by showcasing ‘Girls Thanks’ and ‘No Fur, No Leather’ over statement tees. While Hermès followed’80s trends with big shoulders and bright colors.

As we move further, one of the biggest trends we found on SS17 at Paris is dancing on the runways, bringing fun to oversaturated moments. However, Alexander McQueen whimsical collection of nature-themed patterns ended the day.

An ancient metal handicraft that originated in Persia and flourished in the 14th century under the rule of the Bahamani Sultans, Bidriware is at the heart of the inspiration of Ankur & Priyanka Modi’s first signature collection.

The craft uses a deep black alloy of zinc and copper, which is then beautifully inlaid with pure silver to create stunning patterns on various silhouettes of furniture, showpieces and jewelry.

Taking the seductive essence of this rich craft, twenty unique pieces consisting of long jackets, capes, gowns, skirts, draped saris, dhotis, anarkalis and lehengas, each piece is replete with luxurious fabrics like organza, velvet, types of silk and weaves laced with threads of silver & gold.

The designers have inculcated multitude of techniques on the garments with the heritage ones like mukaish and zardozi. Intricate pearls have been sewn into garments exquisitely
and painstakingly embroidered by hand.

Manish Arora SS17 showcased psychedelic little ponies, with sunglasses on, in a Care bear colour palette which came in knickerbocker glory bags, dirndl-doodled skirts, paradise vistas splashed out in sorbet and saccharine shades, egg yolk brooches, a blue Chihuahua, and candy floss hair.
