Cannes has always been synonymous with red carpet fashion and taking this sartorial association one step further is the Indian designers Falguni and Shane Peacock showcasing a specially created line of forty Couture Gowns at launch of the first Cannes Fashion Festival, at Salon Croisette at the Hôtel Majestic Barrière, located right across from the Palais de Festival.

For the collection the duo treads the delicate path between fantasy and reality with excellent use of artisan technique never more apparent than in couture, and the brilliance of embroidery and embellishment, in a combination of pastel colors. Floor length dresses constructed with long slits along with a beautiful amalgamation of pastel hues, lace, crystal and their love for romance, the collection signifies the journey traveled in time.

The duo will be auctioning two of the pieces from the collection and the proceeds of which will be given to the Mandela Foundation.

1Lately, H&M announced its autumn guest collaboration with the Parisian house of Balmain, a French luxury label, under the creative directorship of young Olivier Rousteing.

Rousteing and his friends Kendell Jenner and Jourdan Dunn, walked the red carpet at The Billboard Music Awards revealing the first pieces of the collection. Rousteing has created a unique identity for Balmain, with showbiz flair, highlighting its pop charm through the H&M collaboration came as a natural decision.

“I want to talk to my generation: this is my main aim as a designer. H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain, get a piece of the dream and create a global #HMBalmaination: a movement of togetherness, fueled on a hashtag. The collaboration felt extremely natural to me: H&M is a brand that everybody connects to. It calls for unity, and I am all for it”, says Olivier Rousteing.

Available from November 5, in around 250 stores worldwide and online, the collection will feature clothing and accessories for both women and men.

 

Bulgari OpeningDuring the 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival, renowned  brand Bulgari launched its new stunning boutique at the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes.

Featuring marble and gold accents and a translucent chandelier, the store was designed by architect Peter Marino. The inauguration saw the brand ambassador Naomi Watts dressed in a black Rochas dress. along with stunning gold and diamond Bulgari snake necklace.

In a beautiful evening at Park Lane Hotel, London, WGSN presented its Global Fashion Awards 2015.

British footwear designer  Sophia Webster was awarded with the Breakthrough Footwear and Accessories Designer accolade while Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton, Agi & Sam received the Breakthrough Menswear Design award.

Online retailer Farfetch were named Best E-Store, while H&M was presented with the Design Collaboration award for its collection with Alexander Wan. Diesel got Denim Design award and Kate Spade New York won the Best New Retail Concept. Rambler was honoured with the Sustainable Design and Level Shoe District took home the Best Store honour.

Barbara Casasola won the Breakthrough Womenswear Designer award and Natália Vechiatto Feitoza e Silva got the Future Designers Award. Emerging Brand award went to Marques Almeida

Tiger of Sweden was presented with the Menswear Design Award; Peter Alexander received the Kidswear Design award. Polartec was awarded with the Activewear Design.

The night also inducted fashion editor Colin McDowell into the Hall of Fame, awarding him with the Outstanding Achievement award, while model Twiggy was award the Hall of Fame: Icon honour.

In the celebration of his company’s 40th anniversary, Giorgio Armani has come up with a new capsule collection of T-shirts.

Available especially at the gift shop in the newly launched Armani/Silos exhibition space, the collection is decorated with a special Armani/Silos logo. The t-shirts are available in five different prints and white blue and black coloors. One features a black-and- white photo of a tuxedo-clad Armani from the Eighties, while the others are printed with covers of four archival issues of Emporio Armani Magazine.

430Lately, the Hackett Regent Street, London store was packed with F1™ enthusiasts and members of the Williams Martini Racing team who were out in force to celebrate the launch of the Hackett and Williams Martini Racing partnership.

While the racing theme continued upstairs as works of Angela Palmers ‘Adrenalin’ F1™ racing art were scattered around the store, with the vibrant neon lights of the world’s most familiar circuits making a big impression. After the initial snaps and photo-calls Valtteri Bottas set a ‘fast lap’ around the famous Monaco circuit in the simulator for the price of a small donation to the Spinal Injury Association .

Guests who joined Jeremy Hackett to celebrate included Valtteri Bottas, Claire Williams andracing car driver Freddie Hunt. Sports TV presenters Natalie Pinkham and Jennie Gow also enjoyed proceedings, along with quintessentially co-founder Ben Elliot and Olympic rower Sophie Hosking MBE.

The Grand Finale NIFT Mumbai Final Year Graduation show 2015, followed the Make in India theme by showcasing the traditional weaves & crafts from Maharashtra.
