1Mod’art International, VIDM Institute of Design & Management and Mr. Udit Agarwal Director VIDM & Mod’ Art International (Delhi) hosted a evening to celebrate, ‘A LA MODE,’ The Graduation Design Collection. On the occasion VIDM, has joined hands with Hon’ble Mr. Satish Gujral, a world famous painter, sculptor, muralist, graphic designer, writer and architect in awarding ‘The Satish Gujral Award in Art & Architecture’.

The show exhibited collections of the First, Second and Final Year students in the presence of Chief Guest Hon’ble Mr. Santosh Gangwar, Textile Minster of India. Other dignitaries included, Mr. Udit Agarwal Director of Modart New Delhi, the President of FDCI-Mr. Sunil Sethi, President of the Artistic and Educational Committee of Mod’Art Paris –Mr. Patrice de Place.

The opening collection kicked off with the ‘Make in India’ theme, a national program designed to transform India into a global manufacturing hub. Further, audience were enthralled with collection of divergent inspirations ranged from the Baroque Period to Out of Space ‘Humaliens’, from the Epic ‘Mahabharata’ to Architectural Wonders of the human mind.

Future of Fashion runway show at the Fashion Institute of Technology showcased 72 looks in sportswear, special occasion, knitwear, intimates and children’s wear from the school’s top graduating fashion design students. Students who spent their final year at the college’s Milan campus at the Politecnico di Milano too showcased there capsule.

Strong outerwear looks from sportswear designers Sofia Menasse, Pona Chon, Julia Jiang, Suzy Kim with parade of children’s wear worn by miniature models followed by the lingerie looks was the opening sequence of the graduation event which witnessed Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa, jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, Nicky Hilton and Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of The Museum at FIT.

The 2015 fashion critic award winners were: Ting He (knitwear); Chanan Reifen (knitwear); Lisaneyla Almonte (special occasion); Sofia Menasse (sportswear); Luis Peralta (sportswear); Veronica Romero Schon (sportswear); Jose Camacho (sportswear); Anjami Yarlagadda (children’s wear), and Esmerelda Fyhr (intimates). Other honors included special occasion designer Caroline Vagnone for People’s Choice Winner;  knitwear designer Shannon King for the Best Use of Color Award, sponsored by Siempre Mujer magazine; and Jenna Zhang, Hee Soo Lee and Chanan Reifen for Cotton Inc. awards.

430 2Tommy Hilfiger alongwith its special guests celebrated the opening of the first Tommy Hilfiger store in Thailand, Bangkok. The new store features a classic sandstone façade with antique brass trimmings. A large window installation hosts a high-resolution digital screen that showcases the brand’s latest Tommy Hilfiger advertising campaign videos and imagery, providing passers-by with an engaging and immersive brand experience.

The opening event was attended by many celebrities like socialite Srikanya Sakdidej Panupan, Sittharmarin Suamawattanakun Poonsapmanee ,  Kornkanok Yongsakul , Chindapa Boonyagorn, Panidhi Sanidvongs na Ayudhya, Kanyarat Akkaradechdechachai, Piyawat Kempetch , Mark Maruwut Buranasilpin, top models like Si Phitsinee Tanwiboon and Yogurt Rawiwan Bunprachom to name a few.

3Australian designer Collette Dinnigan has unveiled her new five piece capsule collection for American store Anthropologie. The bold and feminine collection is inspired from the designs of ’50s and the designer’s own glamorous signature style.

Inspired by sunsets on the beach, the color palette consists of soft shades. The collection has breezy maxi and soft silk blouse which are reminiscent of Dinnigan’s trips to the Great Barrier Reef.

The dolman-sleeved pullover exudes the vibe of Pariss street, Sydney’s Bondi Beach and busy avenues of London. There is crusty gathered frock with stunning detailing on the back which is beautiful and versatile.

Along with his brand’s 40th anniversary celebration, famous designer Giorgio Armani unveiled his much awaited Silos Armani complex.

Previously a warehouse of the Nestlé Company, the Silos Armani complex covers an area of 48,600 square feet which consist of an open space, massive square hall and four floors with concrete walls and stone staircases. The ceilings are painted black in contrast to the gray cement floors.

The looks are divided by themes from ethnic and chromatic to artistic patterns. The ground level has a café and a gift shop while first floor stores his famous love of neutral taupe and beiges and the designs that has made him such a staple of luxury business wear.

The next floor has the exotic, highly crafted, ornate side of his work on display. The top floor features digital archive of sketches, technical drawings and materials from the designer’s collections as well as an arrangement system developed specifically for the Silos.

Near the hall, there’s a mock red carpet and videos of celebrities dressed in Armani’s designs. Also 200 accessories are on display.

430A cast of international designers, influencers, partners and press joined Swarovski at its headquarters to celebrate its 120th anniversary and the re-opening of Swarovski Kristallwelten, with a surprise performance by British singer FKA twigs, wearing a stunning Swarovski crystal embellished outfitdesigned by Swarovski Collectiveduo Rodarte for their Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

Nadja Swarovski and Markus Langes hosted guests including Jean Paul Gaultier, Nick and Charlotte Knight, Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, Mary Katrantzou, Iris van Herpen,Steven Kolb, Stephen Webster, Shaun Leane, Sandy Powell, Martin Roth, Maarten Baas, Tom Dixon, John Pawson, Vincent van Duysen, Deyan Sudjic, Bertrand Guyon,Rene Caovilla, Eric Valli, Céline Cousteau, Elisabeth Gürtler, Helga-Rabl-Stadler, Karin Bergmann, Gery Keszler, Lilli Hollein, Christiane Arp and Francesca von Habsburg.

The evening’s live soundtrack was provided by Swarovski Musik Wattens, the Tyrolean musical ensemble established by Daniel Swarovski for and from his employees in 1900.
