Untitled-1INDIAN by Manish Arora takes on Fall/Winter 2015-16 with an infusion of multiple inspirations and stories, from Uzbek Suzani, Pavlovsky Posad, Huichol Beads, tribal trance, neotreric geometry to name a few.

It consists of bold colors and patterns of the Suzani embroidery practiced by Uzbekistani women, this story incorporates the intricate yet bold color appliqués with strokes of gold. Pavlovsky Posad Wool Shawls are intricately woven inculcating richness and opulence with single thread embroidery intertwined with gold and pearl embellishments on deep rich tones.

Untitled-1Huichol Beads from the bead art of the Huichol people of Mexico, the collection has a mix of intricate bead prints and embroidery paired with bold and bright colors.  While Soutache jewellery visual has been created by putting together different elements inclusive of colourful beads, stones and pearls. Neck lines and belts have been defined to make it look ornate in Neoteric Geometry.

Tarun Tahiliani unveiled exquisite new designs in handcrafted gold jewellery as part of the ‘Tarun Tahiliani for Azva’ collection with a modern interpretation of the traditional pieces.

The new collection comprises of bridal classics like Statement Chokers, Seven Row Haars and necklaces crafted from interesting design techniques with matching bangles and earrings. The ‘Tarun Tahiliani for Azva’ collection boasts of fine craftsmanship in every piece of jewellery. It highlights a combination of new crafting techniques with filigree work, Velcro like textures with gold wire-work, layered jali sheet work, beads with lace like work, micro filigree and filigree weave work. New silhouettes of necklaces that have been created with a combination of haar, choker and collar choker form an integral part of the collection. A myriad of new gold color finish has been imparted to the new jewellery pieces that enhance the contrast, textures and workmanship of the entire collection.

Gracing the event were Congress spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa, Former Union Minister Jitin Prasada and Uttrakhand Congress Secretary Manish Tiwari. Also seen at the event were Vogatti models, Ritu, Nikita, Meryem among others…

The book Who Me, dwells overs the life of Tara who has been dumped at the altar in favour of stunning rich heiress Ayesha. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to win Arun back. 430Manish Malhotra presented Mijwan, his four year old Legacy, a fashion show in support of the Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS). Some of the biggest stars took to the ramp, on April 4th at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, for the NGO founded by Late Kaifi Azmi and headed by Shabana Azmi and Namrata Goyal.

2015 being the year to celebrate time- honoured associations, craftsmanship and women empowerment, had movie industry, walked the ramp with their sons and daughters who are carrying forward their legacy with much style and aplomb–Amitabh Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan-Nanda, Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Javed Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar came together to support this great cause.

The front row also saw eminent personalities like Aditi Rao Hydari, Sophie Chowdry, Freddy Daruwala, Tanvi Azmi, Sahukat Azmi and Adhuna Akhtar to name a few. The evening commenced with a brief introduction about Mijwan narrated by actress Richa Chadda followed by a few words on the foundation and the cause by Shabana Azmi, a little student of the Mijwan school and Namrata Goyal. The audience was seen tapping their feet to the splendid performance by Shankar Mahadevan and his son Siddharth Mahadevan.

430Luxury multi-brand store Pitaraah unveiled the debut couture collection by Rose Room Couture, at their flagship store in the capital recently.

The preview was attended by the crème de la crème from Delhi’s social glitterati, which included chief guest Mr. Sunil Sethi, Kalyani Saha, Priya Sachdev, Rohit Bal, Sahil Kochhar, Pushpanjali Chawla, Vikaram Baidyanath, Shabnam Singhal, Vineeta Randhir Singh, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Rajpal, Sujata Assomull, Madhu Verma, Ritu Azad Shatru, and Kavita Bali amongst others.

“Opening our new boulevard des Capucines store represents an exciting moment for our brand, and the new location is the perfect complement to our flagship on the Champs-Élysées,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “Paris is incredibly inspiring and the city continues to play an important role for our brand in the French market.”

The opening event was attended by many international celebrities including Tommy and Dee Hilfiger, supermodel Behati Prinsloo, singer and song writer Rita Ora, New York street style icons Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, French actresses Leila Bekhit, Virginie Ledoyen, Ludivine Sagnier, Lou Le Sage, Joséphine de la Baume, Marie-Ange Casta, Ophélie Meunier , Deborah François, actors Hugo Becker and Jeremy Kapone.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia was visited by Jae Suk Kim, Alena Lavdovskaya and Sasha Spring the world famous fashion illustrators. Their main task is to illustrate the brightest moments of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia for six days capturing the looks from the shows.

Jae Suk Kim – is the fashion illustrator from Korea and its her second season with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. She has been already working with such fashion editions as Bloomingdale’s, Style.com Korea, Swide.com, Vogue Korea, W Korea, Vogue Girl Korea, Allure Korea, GQ Korea. Currently Jae Suk Kim lives in Seoul, Korea, and besides working with the international fashion editions, she is also developing her own brand of bags – SUSU

Alena Lavdovskaya – At different times Alena Lavdovskaya studied to be a stylist at Art Institutes San Francisco, NABA Milano and Moscow State Textile University but she finally realised that she enjoys brushes and paints much more than clothes. At the moment her primary place of work is the creative department of TSUM. Illustrations by Alena Lavdovskaya were published in Vogue Russia, Elle Russia, Glamour Russia, DochkiMateri.com, WGSN and many others

Sasha Spring was born in the family with rich creative background. Fashion had always been huge inspiration for Sasha, no wonder that when time came to choose her future profession, she enrolled to Moscow State Textile University to be majoring in Fashion art in leather accessories. Now Sasha has an experience of working an illustrator for Beauty Boutique Chanel, Louis Vuitton and has publication in various fashion editions.

200Designer Jean Paul Gaultier’s finally unveiled his retrospective dedicated to his iconic works at Grand Palais in Paris. The exhibition first debuted at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in 2011 and has been showcased in Dallas, San Francisco, Madrid, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Brooklyn, London and Australia as well.

The exhibition curated by Thierry-Maxime Loriot and designed by Agence Projectile features 175 outfits and many photographs, sketches and videos, all spanning several decades. The exhibition also highlights the personal relationships of Gaultier with models, musicians and filmmakers.

The retrospective presented Gaultier’s debut 1976 collection along with his later couture collection and wedding dresses, including the spunky tube-top style wore by Anna Cleveland in the spring 2015 show. Also at the display was the designer’s first dress he ever made in 1971 for Aitize Hanson to wear in a modeling contest.
