Shubhika’s collection was quirky, funky, dramatic yet classy at the same time.

The designer opted for daring hues like mint, coral red, blush, gold, pastel green, pink and peach. The ensembles were embellished with laser cut acrylics, mirrors, metal casted cages, beads, threads, crystals and faux leather. Each ensemble was highlighted with a bold heart in the center made of mirrors and crystals.

The feminine collection showcased flirty silhouettes like dresses, playsuits, rompers, skirts, shorts, waist coats and bodysuits made from royal fabrics like pure crépe, organza, silk tissue, chiffon, mesh and satin.  The designs were further enhanced with elements like frills, cut outs and see through details.

The creations were complimented by stunning accessories that included suitcase purses, stockings, socks, clutches, sling bags and stilettos.

A look which stood out was a cool mint toned fitted cropped top teamed with a short skirt sporting decadent bead and jewel work.

430A glamorous evening to celebrate Debarun’s collection “Rosarium” was hosted by Monika Oswal & Debarun Mukherjee to launch designers pret line collection by Aditi Rao Hydari for the upcoming India Fashion Week .

Inspired by an eternal classic, Debarun’s Rosarium delves into the many facets of the timeless bloom, the Rose. A fusion line merging ethnic and indo-western silhouettes seamlessly to create a plethora of plenty as is evident in a rose garden. The choice of colours is varied as is archetypal of the rose family which has over hundred species and thousands of cultivars. The choice of materials is mostly elegant with crepes, georgettes, satin and other natural fibres. The feel is modern while the motifs are classic. The collection uses prints and embroidery to enhance the effect of the rose garden.

AIL-F-122141-0000Rome’s most striking and imposing building, Palazzo della Civilta Italiana (PDCI), will soon-to-be headquarters of FENDI. As announced in mid 2013, a 15 year agreement with EUR s.p.a for the prestigious PDCI marking an additional step forward towards the idea of giving value and support to the historical heritage and establishing the future headquarter of the roman maison.
Built at the end of ’30s, PDCI more commonly known as ‘The Square Colosseum’, is considered as one of the icons of Italian rationalist architecture and an exemplary model of monumentality. It is decorated with 28 statues on its four facades with each representing the arts and crafts of the Italian population. Closed for renovation, it will soon house FENDI employees. The architectural project spearheaded by architect Marco Costanzi has set the goal of making the building “habitable” for the first time in its long history, changing the public perception of the monument as an impenetrable stone box.

Influenced by the workofSingh Twins, who revived the technique of miniature paintings, Tarun Tahiliani presented a collection that had Mughal sensibilities with a touch of contemporary. The color like white and black were followed by muted tones and some bold bright hues like rust, orange and red to violet dark blue. Adding a touch of glamour to the ensembles were embellishments in resham and chikankari. The designer creatively used Persian motifs on the borders of leggings and dresses and saris were given new avatar with amazing LED like borders. There were soft silk kaftans with beautiful printed paintings. The line introduced some fitted gilets, dhoti and lungi skirts, kalidaar kurtas and gold kalis with glimpse of Klimt painting. Yellow front pleated maxi, red layered midi with strips of fabrics around it, wide pleated pants, loose poncho tops and shorts teamed with shirt tail tops were stunning. Other splendid looks were an empire line kedeo with sarong, layered tulle asymmetric gown, low crotch salwars and a yellow- lace- peplum blouse over draped dhoti sari. Men’s wear line had printed shirts, waistcoats with or without quilting; sherwani with cowl drape, a set of shaded blue/ green sherwani and waistcoat and long coats.
