Flawless, captivating and dreamy, Arpita’s collection had touch of royalty.

Ethnic silhouettes were highlighted by the sensuous lines of cream and nude. The collection had more embroidery than sequins and showcased appliquéd mirrorwork flowers as well as the innovative geometric shapes and gota designs on sheer fabrics.

Shades of cream and nude with splashes of bright pop tones like royal pink, indigo, lime green and peachy coral were introduced. A lehenga with sequined peplum blouse, textured sari with tiny bikini tops, kurta with shararas were eye-catching.

Other outstanding looks were an off-shoulder embroidered mini with drop sleeves, will-power net gown, the cape and frocks with net dhotis, ponchos teamed with shorts. Also newly launched limited edition line of handmade embroidered shoes named “Bedazzle” gave a touch of elegance.

The exclusive press only event saw a soulful blooming splendour populated by a species of couture clad diaphanous protagonists. The exhibit was devoted to a complete feel of the Duchess in the delicate sorority of signature demi-couture gowns and blushed draped contours .The mannequins all in a pose fitting to the dress being modeled waiting for the show to begin giving a strong desire to the lives lived in them .The parade continued with the vision of grandeur coming alive as an expression of how minimalism is the new admirable. Retreating into nature, mannequin faces almost in motion covered with a second pretence showed unexpected parallels with their own state of mind and an eventual walk into the dawn with infinite possibilities of subtle sensitiveness.

The expressive contour of her individuality and supreme eleganceis strongly defined by the Silhouette, an amalgamation of fluid layers & feminine structures, the glimmering gowns, draped tunics, blushed fluidic sleeve contrasted with art nouveau motifs through a palette of intense onyx blacks, greys & taupes shifting blissfully to sweet peaches, caramels, ivories & gold are a mere showcase, transient & ephemeral, her undying character & spirit is eternal.

The world changes and yet it remains the same. Embodying these timeless classifications, Not So Serious by Pallavi Mohan, present its autumn winter collection ‘nostalgia’ for India Fashion Week FW 15.

Almost a century ago, the 1920’s were a period of Irrational, exuberance and pulsating energy. Taking clue from history, the collection is energetic yet restrained, says the designer. Warm wools and luxurious silks, this set is perfect foil for the cold winter chills. Silhouettes are conservative yet modern and construction techniques hark back to a slower more thought out process.
