In an attempt to celebrate 15 years of existence, the founders of the Fire & Ice lounge threw a reunion party on 30th April at Tote on the Turf in Mumbai. The organisers arranged the party at the entire banquet and bar area of the venue and made profound efforts to make the gathering experience nostalgia about their old college days at the club.

Meanwhile, the party was not only for the 30- to 35-year-olds who have few options to party in the city these days, but also for the generations who never got a chance to visit the venue and only acknowledge it as an urban legend.

To conclude it all, the lounge’s co-founder Ketan Kadam’s efforts to re-collect the old times together were graced by a hub of Bollywood celebrities including Lisa Haydon, Nauheed Cyrusi, Esha Deol, Bharat Takhtani, Abhishek Kapoor, Homi Adajania, Rashmi Nigam and Prateik Babbar among others.

Winner of Times Food and Night life award, Lavana is said to be the first authentic Awadhi speciality restaurant at Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon. Lavana translates to ‘Salt’ in Sanskrit, one of the core ingredients of Indian cooking, is instrumental in bringing out the royal kitchens of the Nawabs,.

With intricate wooden trellis work on a backlit ceiling, artistically carved wooden arches and exquisite antique objets d’art, Lavana is an understated elegance. Chef Sunil Gangwal, has used his extensive Lucknowi culinary techniques in age old recipes to ensure that every meal that is served is as authentic and delectable.

The Nihari Gosht, Shahi Galouti Kebab (veg too), were soft, delicate, with an amazing aroma, seemed like a discovery in this year. Savouring the amazing kebabs, the real surprise was Awadhi Murgh Biryani, without being overly spicy or laden with ghee, aah sure bliss. Relishing the tickling of my taste buds we ordered for Shahi Tukda and Phirni, a perfect finish to our dining experience.

And yes the price is not exorbitant… a delight for Mughlai food lovers, the restaurant has three open tandoors, where diners are welcome to interact with the chefs.
