India’s celebrated designer Jaya Misra unveiled her summer collection, a thoughtful assortment of light Anarkalis, dresses and sarees at AZA, the multi designer store in Gallery Mall, New Delhi on Friday. Apt for summers, the collection is a perfect blend of comfort fabrics & stylish silhouette.

Model Donna & Model Yoanna played the perfect muse to Jaya as they walked around in Jaya Misra’s stylish outfits. The wine & cheese evening was attended by Amit Talwar, Raveela Sharma, Sarayu Singh, Sakshi Bindra, Shikhar Sidharth, Ananya Abrol, Varun Katyal, Vikram Seth amongst others. Designer Jaya Misra was seen interacting with guests and talk about latest trends in fashion.

The two have made the mutual decision not to renew their license agreement after the contract ends on Sept. 12, 2013,” said French beauty conglomerate L’Oréal this week.

L’Oréal acquired the Stella McCartney beauty business, which also included the organic skin-care brand, Care by Stella McCartney, in May 2008, as part of the deal to take over YSL Beauté from the then-PPR for 1.15 billion euro, or 1.48 billion dollars at current exchange.

“As a result of their mutual decision, L’Oréal will focus on concentrating on its other brands, while Stella McCartney will pursue its fragrance and beauty business.”

As many Indian celebrities are spotted wearing Indian designers at the red carpet, designer duo Falguni & Shane make yet another exception, as they dress Paris Hilton in one of their creations.

Paris Hiton was spotted wearing a customized baby pink full length gown with feather embellishments at the bottom.  The designers quoted saying, “Paris has always loved our clothes and we have worked with her in the past. This is one of our signature styled gowns.’’

The duos have also dressed Giuliana Rancic American television personality, a co-anchor on E News at the MET Gala last month and are also designing LA Tattoo artist Kat Von D’s wedding gown.

NIFT, Mumbai celebrated ‘The Graduation Show 2013’ with much fanfare @ JBT Hall, NCPA. The evening was inaugurated by Mr.Dilip Jiwrajka, owner Alok Industries &, Ms. Nilima Rani Singh, Director-NIFT, Mumbai.

The highlight of the evening was 69 graduating students of the Fashion Designing & Knitwear Departments who showcased their extraordinary collections ‘FASHIONOVA’ and ‘KNITMODA’ on Code of facets, Double Take, The Pilgrim Progress, From God with Love themes.

Eclectic mix of celebs, socialites & renowned models seen at the event included, Narendra Kumar Ahmed ,Chetan Hansraj, Nisha Jamwal, Shakti Arora, Jia Mustafa, Neha Bhasin, Dolly Thakore, Achala Sachdev, Krishna Mehta, Pradeep Hirani, Meher Castellino, Candice Pinto, Alesia Raut, Dipti Gujral, Hemangi Parte, Asif Azim, Siddharth Rawal, amongst others.

Archana Kochhar, an ace couturier, showcased her Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the Atlantis, Dubai. Bipasha Basu set the ramp on fire as the show stopper for the evening from the designers’ newest collection titled Mumbai Checkmate.

Inspired by the essence of Mumbai, her collection ‘Mumbai Checkmate’ took the audience on a journey of flair and charm in an array of silhouettes.

The collection is easy and languid which give the garments a relaxed appeal creating a medley of the form fitting and voluminous shapes which comprise of kaftans, gown inspired saris, dhoti style pants, floor length anarkalis, lehengas and jackets that are embellished with quirky motifs inspired by Mumbai. The collection has been cleverly constructed using an oleo of fabrics where organic hand woven silk and cotton take the centre stage.
